I've been trying to figure out the theoretical top end with a 21.5 and came across this site: http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html

I thought it was pretty cool. Right now, theoretically my car is capable of 23 to 28 mph depending on my pinion choices. I'd still like to see actual data on how top end falls away as the torque limit is reached and affects the those values. I keep my car geared short so at higher RPMs there is still some torque available and I'm not overloading the motor. I'm never going to push 30 mph with my setup, but I will never let the smoke out of the motor either.

Well my FGX is finally read for its first test day tomorrow! I can already tell I am going to need much thicker oil in the rear shocks...the stock oil is way too light. Even the blue rear spring seems too soft in feel...but we'll see how it goes tomorrow. The front end on this thing is crazy sloppy...With the 2* front block I end up with 4* of camber. I have some F103GT aluminum knuckles that I am thinking on trying. The bearing spacing on the axle is much wider on these knuckles so that will take some slop in the bearings out. The arm on them though is much shorter so I'm not sure if they are going to work out. That will be a project for much later.

I have a set of those sitting right here in front of me you will need an extender for sure and you will also have to space the wheels out further via 3mm+ thicker hex. To be honest your better off switching to the 104 knuckles. even with the 3mm extenders the track width is still around 175mm

Damn...I'd rather not have to mix and match tires...what about the Ride front rims for the F104 that take the Ride tire? Is the off-set going to come out right to be able to use the regular Ride tires all around?

Default videos of new front suspension from 3racing

Looks like video of 3racing testing the new fgx front suspension setup. Its not any different than the pictures from Shizouka, but its video and it's up close so it's nice.

Sorry if it's already been posted, I haven't made it all the way through this thread yet.

yes those will work and the HPI tires mount up to them. RIDE front tires suck!! I have no idea what or why they make them so hard. The mediums are bearable if you can drive with brakes but the SS are hard as rocks.

Yeah I have the medium Ride tires all around right now but was thinking they actually feel too soft. When I started building the car no one was running the HPIs yet so I got the Rides. I'll try the HPIs soon. Back in the F201 days the medium tires worked well at night but as soon as we went to running in the day we needed to switch to hard tires due to the heat. It seems no one makes a hard tire any more so we will just have to find a medium that works. I do have a set of old Square hard tires left over in stock from the F201 days that I plan to try out but I would rather have a set of the old Pit Shimizu hard tires as the Square ones were even harder than the Pit Shimizu ones. I haven't glued them up yet but am bringing them to the track today so I may try them out.

Hobbywing Justock and Thunderpower Z3-R. FYI, the Reedy Sonic is made by the same company Thunderpower uses as a manufacturer.
