Does the o ring tension release over time? I have felt some spec r diffs that are butter smooth. I don't know how they get that way.

When they replaced the front arms with the V2s, they immediately went into the newest kit. Those were an improvement. The IFS is a little beyond improvement and I would guess it will be offered as an upgrade kit over the stock front end as a feature enhancement. (Fancy way of saying more money)

found these on facebook.
two videos as well, not sure if the anti roll bar is working that well. considering a very stiff front end is needed.

been playing with the IFS for the past few days on the street which happens to be the same surface i will be racing on sunday! let me just say that pandora's box is now open! Start learning about roll centers and tire choices start from scratch. My main goal was to get more chassis roll to allow the suspension to truly work like it suppose to. It is so neat to watch the car "roll" instead of slide while turning. No longer does the car switch grip throughout the turns now it just turns and if it pushes it pushes all the way BUT when you get the steering right, it turns on a dime. with my ride height at 6mm i can make the chassis sides (front and rear) scrape the ground! obviously that is too much but i wanted to go to the extreme and now i am backing it back down. I went to a longer link in the rear which eliminates the Faux arm. By doing this, first thing i noticed was the increased leverage and how the back now moves the tires around ALOT (looks like a 2wd buggy) It is now imperative to run -3* of camber in the rear. performing this mod on a king pin front will just make the rear wash out because the front will not roll. Also note that the droop screws do their job much better now and the rear shocks do more work as they are much more involved in the chassis attitude in the rear. So to slow down the "roll" i went to F201 med springs and it got even better! i have burned up 4 complete battery packs just in front of my house! stay tuned.......

It doesnt seem to like the rear sway bar alone but keep in mind i am on low grip asphalt, i am sure on carpet you will need both sway bars.

Makes sense you would have to add camber...the longer upper link reduces the amount of camber change.

I tried to grab the URL, but keep looping me back to RCTech. I'd like to see it from the bottom and front.

Now i'm interested in the FGX even if it's not race legal here, that is one cool front end! Ultimate basher car for me and for turning practice laps for fun.

Will keep checking back about this car now

I'm tempted to take it apart and rebuild it but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort. I built the gear diff last night. It's just the gear equivalent of it's ball diff pos cousin. I have no oil in it and it doesn't turn very freely due to the o-ring tightness. I'm sure this loosens up after running a bit though but so far I don't see a usable diff in unmodified stock form.

So what's the trick? Are you guys taking these things apart to tweak them or is everyone just content with running pure junk for a diff?
Fred,

I dont know of any serious racer who simply puts a factory assembled ball diff in their car without first rebuilding it and checking the diff plates etc.

As for the gear diff, did you raed the article on the 3 Racing website on how to build the gear diff. Did you grease the O rings before putting them in? All gear diffs drag on the Orings ... they have to otherwise the oil will leak out
