I am not sure on the cell wrappings, but if you remember, the very first runs of the GP3300s had a slightly larger diameter and width, and ROAR conditionally approved them as long as future runs would be smaller. I happened to grab an older pack from the pile o' packs at the office and spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure out what I was doing wrong until I realized what it was and compared the size to some packs that I knew were newer.

If this ever became a problem, it could be easily corrected with an aftermarket center bulkhead that had a tiny bit of material removed from it. I doubt it's a big deal though, few people still use packs that old.

Not sure what connectors those are, although I've probably seen them before...

I believe the first gen GP3300's had a rainbow shrink wrap, I could be mistaken, but that sounds right.

Default JRXS Battery question

Well first,

Is there a release date yet?

Now,,I had been out of R/C Cars for about 15 years,,so I don't really know what 1st and 2nd gen GP 3300 you guys are talking about.

I have 2 different colors of GP 3300's,,,one is green and purple fade and the others are Green and Orange.

I am already aware that the batteries can be a bit of a size problem, they're a tight fit in my both my AE T4 and B4. Specially with deans battery bars.

So, am I going to have to get new batteries,,,tear mine apart and redo them, and when those pesky 3700' appear, then what?

I've noticed that some of the new cars coming soon are coming with different sized battery trays,,,since I haven't seen the car that detailed, what are the possibilities of this for the JRXS.

Release date: Soon

The first gen GP's would be those purple/green ones, later gens used the green/orange shrinkwrap. You should be able to get the green/orange ones in there with just changing your connector bars. Evicerator came in not long ago and told us that the new chassis will be wider to allow more "maneuvering room" for the battery.

Yeah, the "rainbow" colored cells are the first generation cells. The Orange/Yellow ones I mentioned are the Orange/Yellow and Green cells that others mentioned. I only mentioned the Orange/Yellow, because everyone knows the other color is green. But some people refer to the other color as either Yellow or Orange...sorry for any confusion.

Hey guys, just incase anybody hasn't been following the 2005 Roar Nats coverage, you might want to swing by the thread.

nashrcracer has a link to his site where he has a couple pics of partially disassembled JRX-S cars. One with the forward upper deck removed (roarnats 50), the other with a pic of the rear diff pulled out of the housing and the shock tower removed. (roarnats 54)

Nice pics that gives a different look at the chassis.

Not sure if this has been asked or not, but is the jrxs using the same turnbuckles as the XXX-S?

I don't think so, I think they are alot shorter, and have the titanium style like on the Mini-T, as in the square profile and all.

The new RC CAR ACTION has a pretty cool ad for the JRX-S . They have several pics of a partially built car...very nice!
