RTR'S

THATS THE REAL REASON. It used to be that you would have to build an R/C car to get into the hobby. Then there were a few RTR's that you could sell to people that felt they just plain could not build. THEN the WHOLE DAMN INDUSTRY when to RTR's. Now the NORMAL back yard basher does not have to build anymore. So what happeneds? the price of RTR's come down, and the price of KITS go UP because NOT AS MANY PEOPLE are PURCHASING KITS... .
.But also think about this...The Tamiya, they only produced like 2000 or something. So its almost like collector.
Great points. Never thought about it like that.

So what motor do you all plan on running??
Its a tough call for me. And mainly it depends on what rules our local club plans to allow this year.

If I run stock, I'd like to run my Hellfire can with the V2 endbell conversion. If I run mod, I'll definitely go with a Orion/Peak V2 motor. And of course theres 19t....jezzz...so many choices!

If it wasn't for RTR's i wouldn,t be racing today! they bring new people into the hobby, and not just hardcore racing, when and if they want to become hardcore racers they will still buy a full competition kit, because they say to themeselves this RTR isnt cutting it anymore, so look at it in the long term effect, more people in the hobby, = more sales for the hobby shops, the more they sell, the cheaper they can sell those products at so we all win, it's called supply and demand!.

i have to 2nd that Charlie O

I wasnt sure if i was going to like RCs, let alone sedans. my first rc was an RTR XXX-S and i was hooked. Im pretty sure i'll never buy another RTR. All people need to do is get in the door and the floodgates will open. the RTR market seems to work in that regard.

Default RTRs?

Kits are more expensive because racers must have the latest and greatest and will pay for it. RTR's if anything bring prices down overall, the more a profitable a company is.....the less they have to charge. Think Chevy would be in business if all they sold were Corvettes? Bread and butter (RTR's for RC and Aveo's for Chevrolet) are what make the JRXS and Corvette possible.

Just my .02 useless cents

Todd, what kind of handling characteristics does the Skoda 2 have? Looks pretty good!

So is this why you guys keep delaying the car, you keep changing things? Ya gotta let go of your baby eventually! j/k

Good work, though. Can't wait 'til its released. Good luck at Snowbirds!

The SK2 has a lot more steering than the original Skoda. Also rolls less than the Skoda 1.

Thanks for the info Todd! How's it compare to the Losi Alfa for reference (that's what I'm currently running)?

Can someone tell me, which bearings sizes the JRX-S will use?

Thanks.
