Default Charge the night before?

I hear people say that they get good results by charging the night before, and then re-peak or boost at the track.

I've tried it with Sanyo 2400 and Sanyo 3000 HV. I found that it couldnt compare to a full straight charge just before the race, so I havent tried it with my GP3300.

What's your experience? Do GP3300 respond better to this treatment?

I'm running stock, so punch matter !

That's what I do, charge up my batts the night before, then use the "boost" (on the 16x5v6) function on them before the race.

If you want the maximum from your batteries then the best thing is to charge them right before you race! If possible race immediately after the charge finishes!

On the other hand, if for some reason, ie you cannot charge during race day, then good thing is to discharge for 10-20 secs and then peak.

Errrr....why first discharge for 10-20 seconds prior repeaking ?

Not that I'm absolutely sure, but I think there are two reasons:

1) The pack was already fully charged, so basically a re-peak is overcharge.
2) By discharging a little at first, you start to warm up the pack. After the small discharge, you aint over-charging and the pack takes much more milliamps, than if just re-peaking, thus this will also make the pack warmer. And packs just perform better, while warm. Reason is, that warmer means lower IR.

That's what I thought. I'm going to save up for an additional charger...

More or less what Cole said which is to "wake" the battery!
