BTW, if anyone is still running their classic 1/12th, what are you using for power?
- 7.2V sub-C with brushed motor?
- 7.4V lipo with brushed motor?
- 3.7V lipo with brushless motor?
- 4.8V sub-C with brushless motor?
- 4.8V sub-C with brushed motor?

If you have a full list of everything Frewer has got including 1/10th I would appreciate it.

Just e-mail him and ask if your interested he is a good guy ,I was only looking for 1/12th at the time so I didnt ask about others. I have all of the bodies listed above and the Ferrari boxer is the only one that is a little iffy.It has a few dings in it,but other than that they are very perfessional, not like the Team Blue Groove bodies from Ebay.
For our classics we run 2c cell size LiFe(6.6V) and brushed motors. It gives us the feel of older batteries without worring about run time. They make then in saddle packs so the side by side 6 cell cars can use them also. The power(6.6V) is more than enough for the really old cars and keeps the newer cars from walking all over the really old ones.LiPo for us is way to fast and its hard to balance the older chassis as or course is on the small side.
But really whatever works for you is best. You sort of have to balance speed and how much fun you want to have when running with your friends.
So for us
LiFe (6.6V) brushed

My first 1/12 was a Bolink Bandito. I still have it and I will crawl up in the attic and get it down to take some pics this weekend. I also have some Delta's and other cars that I'll get down too. I loved racing 1/12 back in the day when you had to manage your batteries in a race.

Now it's tires that need to be cared for in 12th mod.
8 minutes in 12th scale is still the business

8 min race, lots of driving/racing strategy involved.
I was racing with black sanyo 1700 scrc and 2000 back in the day w/ 13 or 14 turn mod motors. Throttle management and smooth around the track really taught me a lot.

Lucky you...we had 1400's! I just missed out on the 1200mah days.

When I started, we didn't even have Sanyos. We used GE 1200s. Sanyos, even 1200s, were a massive improvement.

These days I believe it's 1 cell lipo (3.7v) with brushless.
When I was racing in mid - late 90s, I was using Sanyo 1700 (black) and RC2000 which was Sanyo as well. The actual capacity was near 2000mah for 1700cells and 2200-2300 for rc2000 cells.

I'm not sure if this counts as Classic, because it's a dedicated 4 cell car, but I have a Trinity Reflex-12, that I raced as recently as January this year. It's a T-bar car that uses swizel sticks for side-to-side damping. It also has a really cool blue graphite chassis. The front end is the old Trinity front end with infinitely adjustable caster. Nice, but easy to tweak.
Actually I ran it at the Australian Nationals last November and finished 10th as the only driver using cells and a brushed motor, so I was pretty happy with that! Since then I've joined the real world and am running an RC12R5.1 with LiPo and Brushless. I'm thinking of pulling the Reflex out again though to try and get more numbers for a spec 12th class at my local track.

Trinity made some good/interesting cars. Its too bad they dont make a current car. I thought it said alot of Trinity when Kyosho dumped thier 1/12th designs and just imported Trinity instead here in Japan. Kyosho had a long history in 1/12th and it seemed that they dropped 1/12th if viewed for a State side view, but here in Japan they kept going in 1/12th but the Team Drivers switched over to the imported Trinity. Kyosho still has Team Drivers in 1/12th here in Japan but they use a mix different company cars.I dont know what happened with Trinity but Kyosho dumped them here in Japan in th e late 90s and that is why the Team Drivers use a mx of cars now.
It would be interesting to know what happend to Trinity`s 1/12th program.

This is my Trinity Reflex. Bought this car just for optical reasons not for racing. Looks very good in any collection.
The tubes are the CRC blue tubes. Not available anymore.

I used to have one of those and really liked it, although that front end was a pain to adjust! I also tried out a Team Laje SpeedEvil car that used a similar front end, but with and extra part that made changing the front end settings really easy. Google it and you'll see what I mean.

I have a Team Laje Speed Evil as well.
For the same reason.
Actually this was the car what started me collecting pan cars.

Speaking of unusual front ends, has anyone seen the one on the Yokomo R12? It looks like the front end off a Delta, or a Trinity Magic Carpet Ride -- mono-shock.

It's hard to say, as in the beginning of the 2000s their cars were popular and won a ton of races. I'm not sure if it just came down to not wanting to keep up with new designs and parts when there seemed to be an explosion of car makers (CRC, SpeedMerchant, Hot Bodies, BMI, Xray, etc..)
