those show up on "the 'Bay" rather frequently. You should be able to get it tuned up if you need parts. Looks clean.

Does anybody know what the first 1/12 car that came standard with a ball diff was? That question has been bugging me for a little while and I figured somebody on here would know...

I'm in with everybody else, Cecil Schumacher developed the ball diff.

Schumacher developed the ball diff as an accessory for the Mardave car Robin was racing at the time, but Schumacher didn't build a complete car until the XL. The first car which included Schumachers diff was the Gemini SL, followed by Bolink - got a Bolink labelled NIP Schumacher diff in my collection. I think the Associated RC12E was first car with a ball diff made by the same company as the car.

Don't know much about Leisure cars, but I had a Leisure diff in my 12E before Associated's came out. Was a complicated bit of kit that used 2 different rear wheels. If they put it in their own cars, they beat Associated.

I know that MRP sold a diff kit that fit all the early D drive axle cars. It was a hollowed out bolt that used a set screw to secure it to your existing straight axle. Looked like it used standard washers that you could buy at a bolt supply shop and the diff balls where pretty soft too, it also used this massive nylok nut for the adjustment.

Pretty sure it was out before the diffs came out for the 12e cars, maybe by a couple months.
