Default Old TC Cars - Still Racing Competitively

Hi, just a thread for us old time racers still racing competitively with oldschool cars. For us to share photos and videos. Let's have fun and revive these old warriors.

Here's mine, Tamiya 414.

Right now, for my driving style, laptimes:

HPI TCX: 15.5 sec
Tamiya 414: 14.9 sec

Maybe if I get saddle packs I can centralize weight even more for better performance.

I still have a FT TC3 that is competitive locally and looks awesome with my Parma Panoz GT body. Running a Team Wave BL esc and a Losi Xcelerin 17.5 motor.

Still racing a TOP Scythe which I have owned since 2007...

I don't think I would be any faster with any other chassis.

Was getting beaten recently by a TC3 and Yokomo BD.

Racers get obsessed with the performance advantages of the latest chassis, when really the chassis is one of the smallest influences on the car. Assuming the car is built right and the setup has no major vices, performance is 99% down to the driver, tyres and motor.

Stop with this non-sense, did you not get that "flavor of the month" memo???

All kidding aside, nice looking car there. The only thing I want to do with my cyclone is get the exotek (sp?) chassis so it is fully updated for running lipo, and some better performance. Other than that I see no reason to get the latest thing. Some of the prices on the latest kits is un-fu#k-ing beleivable.

Good day!

I ran a T1FK04 Xray all last season and intend on running it this year. I also mad an WGT car from old parts I had. The chassis is an associated 10LS 200mm T-bar that I modified and installed a CRC 3.1 1/12 scale link pod to it. The center shock is a spare from my Xray and the front end is CRC/Associated. I started with damping tubes but I removed them and the side springs and installed associated T18 rear shocks with the aluminum threaded upgraded bodies.

I like this thread!
I run a TC3 team. If I pay attention I can run with the xrays and tc5/6 lap times. MMpro, LRP x12 17.5,Hitec servo, muchmore premounts and DNA2 body. I'll get a couple pics up when I get home this weekend.

I got a TC3 that I'm using for VTA and and old associated 10LSO that I run and play with. I like what you did with the links BCbud, may do that with a speedmerchant rev5 rear end I have.
