My TL01 racing weight is 1322grams (lightweight chassis, mazda6, shorty pack). FDR can go down to 4.0 with 24pinion directly on the counter gear.

416 on right driven by my daughter has won 2/2 races so far in our Tamiya series. TL01 is same dimension (wheelbase, track) but weight much closer to the center line.

Then again, it could be horrible on the track. Will see next Saturday.

Here's my Tl01 running against 2010 model cars a few years ago in 13.5 boost. Lots of fun

Not to mention that the center of gravity is a mile high on the T L01.

I don't know if this car is still competitive. Next month will be my first time racing electric sedan. I just finished polishing the hinge pins and freed up the steering rack. Still rocking the Novak Switch.

Of course it's competitive, just a tub chassis which has influence on handling but not in a bad way. It could be hampered more by it's shocks than by it's suspension geometry. To have even more wow factor I would run a shorty batt with that

The old TC3 can still run fine and get you on the track. Your springs are really heavy for rubber tire racing, though.

Very. Associated purples are 30 lb/in. Start at around half of that, with oil to match.

The TC3 is too heavy for TC class, but will do well in VTA, or maybe USGT.

Thanks for the advice guys. I will try softer springs. The car is very loose exiting corners. I'm running a Front spool. Shock oil is 50 front 40 rear. Tires are Sweep 36. I am running a LTCR body. The track is unprepped asphalt. I'm not sure if sway bars will help. Any suggestions?

The spool will make the car loose on corner exit when running on low-traction surfaces. Do you have a ball diff to put in? If you have one that's "crunchier" than another, put it in the front, and the smoother one in the rear.

Definitely still competitive in USVTA.

Thanks howard. I'll try the diff and see how it compares. It's very satisfying when you finish a complete rebuild.

Try a little less front droop, but always the same spring in the rear or stiffer, not softer: 19lbs gold springs max in the rear, but mostly blue 17lbs springs all around with 40wt oil/ 25% rebound/ no preload...

Looking for an old TC4 part for a project car. Part # is ASC 31105. One piece motor mount and bulkhead for Factory Team TC4. If anyone has one they are willing to get rid of please shoot me a PM. I figure some of the old school guys may know someone that has one laying around.

Thanks!

My favorite RCTech thread.

I actually had to put my old JRXS Type R back together, I had intended in earnest to buy a new car but I don't race TC that often and couldn't justify the cash. What's funny it that I use a steel battery tray in the car that as it turns out wasn't exactly flat anymore... I had a very low-tech way of dealing with this involving standing on the plate, the concrete flood ledge in my garage, and a hammer. Worked great.
