Thumbs up

Wow guys, my fgx f1 mckune chassis has been lightened down from 1202grams to a prospective 1058grams or so when I install all the newly ordered parts .... I had to change most of the steel screws to aluminum or titanium. I switched to a tekin RS speedo(on order), a Lrp super shorty(132grams), an Xray 2016 F1 body(on order), and changed my heavy fgx rear wing/swaybar combo to a simple plastic f1 wing... Almost 150grams weight loss !!!! Wow!!!! I can sleep in peace now...lol.... Thanks howardcano for the car, all of those who helped, Desert,etc....

*deep breath*
Bert, that will change CG height and bias and not in a good way. Lighter is better if done with a purpose. Focusing on overall weight means little compared to weight bias tuning and CG height and you might/surely cancel one out if it isn't done correctly. I see pics with a shorty in the middle of the chassis lengthwise, can the shorty rest against the motor?

150grams over is way overweight, lower cg/wrong weight bias or not... Once the weight is lost, then I can work on placement/CG, etc... I already have a heavier drivetrain then the direct drive F1 cars. I can't add another 150gram to that deficit... Cheers....

True, I'm just a proponent of knowing where we are to better know where to go.

Some of the older Tamiya stuff seems to be running well at the Reedy Race, but it looks like aftermarket chassis. Still pretty cool.

I think they are shaft driven. Looking forward to build a nice MR4TC-SD and I found a good Kyosho TF5

I don't know about open but I know two did very well in 17.5. Very good drivers wheeling those cars.

That pro4 was way faster than the other new cars, but it can be even faster with a few BERT inspired mods....

Looks pretty good, may have needed a few laps to run in but then you clearly had a faster car than the leader through the sweeper, but I think he had better rotation through the tighter sections of the track. Probably just a difference in driver style showing through.
