On road car set up

I'm thinking of buying an on road car. And then putting my velineon motor and TRX 2.4 set up on it. Is this possible? Has anyone done it?

my son has trx2.4 link in his mini and and came in second in his race this weeken, it sucks for setting it up looking at the blinking lights is not fun but have patience.
