The shims are interchangeable left to right and front to back. A total of 4 shims is recommended for each car, (one on each side of the rear suspension mounts front whether in the front end or the rear end) but up to 8 can be used.

The shims are Aluminum and finished in Black Anodization, like our Vertical Stud Shock Tower Mounts. They are 1.5mm in width, which is roughly the same width as the Box Set-Up and are compatible with the stock plastic shims, or the more precise Aluminum M3 Suspension Shims.
Very nice!! I like! But I would have to change kits to use these...

This had several different effects
-Decreased traction- The mounts just would be "too solid" is what we inferred.
-Increased damage in strong collisions: Since there was nothing to "give" either the bulkheads would get bent, the arms would break and/or the hinge pins bend. We are talking hard though, not your regular hits.

We then tested the non-grub screw model, it worked much better. Not only are they easier to use, but they provide more consistent traction. We did not have a single instance of the Shim moving or getting loose which prevented the Arms from developing the slop. It is much like the CF shaped shims some people (You?) were cutting, but with a "stop" built into the back of them. The Center hole in the shim is used at the A or B hole, which puts equal force on both ends of the shim at any position. The stop (or flange) comes out 5mm, which enables you to use more than plenty aluminum shims to space out your car/ incorporate rear toe as much as 5.5 mm at any end when you are using these shims. Another benefit of having no grub screw is that in high speed collisions there was less damage to the car.
Makes total sense; I am using carbon shims which prevent the rotation in the same way (increased friction), but can still move in a crash to prevent damage.

Since the carbon shims aren't commercially available and most people don't have access to lots of thicknesses of carbon fibre I would think your new shims will be very popular. The mount rotation is the biggest problem with the TC6 out of the box and these will solve it nicely. A very simple, effective solution I think.

We won't be at the Reedy Race, however we have shipped some products that way already. So you might start seeing some in the Pits.

Default Production Shim Samples and Product Shipping

So... Good track day yesterday. The production shims are awesome! Not once did they come loose. Suspension mounts stayed in place all night long, and not once did I have to re-tighten them. Typically, every 2-3 runs they will develop about 0.5-1.0 mm of slop. Not last night. As expected, only the rear mounts (at rear end and front end) really need them, if you want a more solid set-up 8 instead of 4 shims can be used.

We are also making good strides with the springs packaged up, seeing as this is a long weekend, remaining product from partially shipped orders, as well as international orders should all ship on Tuesday.

Some of you should be starting to receive your first items around these days. Make sure you drop by and give your impressions and ask any questions you may have.

Default All orders shipped!!!

Great news! We are all caught up with all the pre-orders, including dealers. If you placed an order for anything, or were waiting on anything else, the parts are all on their way.

If you were waiting for everything to be in stock to order, now is your chance!
