TRF,

That one I can answer, and it is YES! I think there are a total of 12 different spring rate (6 front and 6 rear I believe, not 100% sure I have to check the parts list) Yokomo springs are also compatible (you'll have to remove some of the paint coding because it thickens the wire and if you don't remove the paint where it mounts on the shock, you can't get it on)

Herminator,

To answer your question, I'll need a big cup of coffee...I think I'll do that tomorrow morning when I'm more awake (Smileys are addicting)

By the way guys, I finally timed my R2 free spinning...actual time is around 17-18 seconds. I have it on video, and I'll post it on our website once it is up.

17-18 seconds!!!
a belt driven car would have to be worked on hard to get half that

thats some very free spinning

what did you say about smilies?

RideRed,

Thank you for your pre-order. As for this car better than a XXX-S, I can't say that, because a car is only as good as the driver that drives it and sets it up. However, I can say that this car will be more efficient that the XXX-S.

Lightbulb

I have a question too, instead of using other companies springs. Does Alex Racing Designs have springs set of different stiffness for the Barracudas?
Just like Steve said.. they make there own in about 12 differnt rates. but I like to Use the HPI springs because they fit perfect and they are Colored too ...makes it much easier to identify them..

Good that HPi springs fit well, means Lab springs will work too

still need to buy more of a range of springs though

now get to work on my list

Do you get a spur gear with the kit? if so what size and dp is it?
What gearing is good to start with for stock racing? With a very revvy Matrix V10R motor indoors, I'm currently running 22.52-23.46 roll out.

How close are the cells to the drive shaft? just wondering if I will need to remove the central link wire in my packs, since they're currently used as saddles.

What kind of range of gears can I use with a spur? ie how much can the motor move to get the right mesh?

Do you sand and super glue the edges of the graphite bits? or are Alex Racing the first to sell they're woven graphite bits actually finished in the manufacturing stage, highly doubtful I know

Are the shock lengths the same front to rear?

Is it difficult to get the screws in the first time when screwing into any plastic parts? making it sensible to tap the thread first and use a little grease when doing so.

Should you use thread lock on the screws going into the aluminium bulkheads? or does this just make it too difficult to remove them in a quick rebuild.

What make of springs do you use that best fit the shocks? and what range you use for different kinds of racing surface?

ok thats as many as I can think of for now I think I know who'll spend the most time answering these have fun JDM

actually I have a question for you since you're on a ship, whats a poop deck?

Ok here's my best shot at it

1) Mount your reciver on top of your servo.. ( best mounting position ..more weight forward ) and the esc by the motor best set up for "ZERO" radio interferance

2) No sure gear with the kit..but the best size would have to be a 72t for all around racing

3) you might run into a clearance problem with the saddles..?? but the battery to shaft clearance is about 3~4mm tops

4)you can use spur gears in the range of 66~75t 48p

5) Sanding and prep work for glueing you will have to do..

6)Shocks are shorter up front and longer in the rear

7) No & Yes on the screws....but very little plastic used on this Car

8) Yes! use a small ammount of screw lock on the bulkhead to shock tower screws and on the lower steering post screws..good idea

9) HPI Springs..next Yokomo

10) Please no more quetions j/k

???? What is a poop deck..?? You mean a Head/Sh!ter??

Hehe, B+, next weeks test will be on quantum mechanics

surely the reciever ontop of the servo is rasing the center of gravity, which is bad for handling. If I ever need to add weight though I'll put it up front.

Where do you mount your transponder? I've seen some kits with mounts next to the servo but it looks like this may be an aftermarket hop up. Hopefully I'll actualy get a personal transponder soon so I'll put that on top of the servo or if the wiring is easy enough I may put in on top of the front bumper.

Better get the gloves and mask ready for sanding that lovely graphite

really looking forward to the speedtech cuda website and the releasing of the moggy.
