im thinking of getting one of these has anyone got one or used one are they worth it and do they trash the packs sooner

i have one of the old analog models (supposedly not as powerful as the newer digital model). IMO, yes you will see small recovery in your packs. my experience (using ce35bl and 35gfx) is about a .03-.04v per pack increase and a small drop in IR. supposedly the change in the cell will depend on the condition in the first place.

I've used the DCX3300 about every 6 cycles (charges and discharges) for the last 10 months or so and the packs are as good as new and some actualy show better numbers than new....Some would say that zapping them every 6 cycles is overkill but this is right around the time when I'll notice higher numbers on the cells actual and internal resistances.......Like Gee-Dub said there are small increases to be gained in your adverage voltage, but (In my experience)I find that the best thing about it is how it can lower the cells internal resistance, even on brand new top of the line GP3300's from any of the best matchers out there......I think the DCX3000( the previous model) lacks the power(not in volts, but amperage) to have the correct effect on the 3300's,because the times that I've zapped cells with it , the results were considerably less all the way around.......Hope this helps some

will it revive dead packs that might have been discharged too far (below 0.9)?

Revive packs yes.....but not because of having anything to do with a pack that was previously brought down below .9 volts.......this is what many of the top guys do before every charge.... it's also a must that the cells be down very low, preferably at zero, when maintenence zapping them.......

I too can confirm that the dcx3300 does wonders to your internal resistence (punch) but has very little effect on everything else.
