You'll get the most consistent car by using both, setup station then camber gauge. The setup station is the only way to set toe accurately, and also gets you in the ballpark for camber. Then once you have your tyres mounted up do the final check with the camber gauge.

As people have mentioned, wheels and tyres can be warped, bent, wobble, etc. The best thing to do is to take 3 or so readings with the gauge and make sure the average is what you want your final camber to be. This is how Jilles Groskamp does it as seen in his pro-tips video

setup wheels and camber gauge is what I use. gets rid of the out of round wheel problem, and is very accurate

Set station for toe, definitly. Everything else with the basic tools. I never felt I totally got the car right just using the station.

For setting toe I always use my digital calipers. I measure front and rear distance between front wheels. 1.8mm difference gives about 1 degree of toe. By using this method I have almost forgotten about setup station.

Yea but at some point you put wheels back on the car, I don't know any classes where set up wheels are legal (except maybe in mod ) and even then I think traction rolling may be an issue...

HUDY setup station is 0.5 less than Yokomo camber gauge... compared too with Team Associated and TeamC camber gauge... they gave same result...

IMHO
What ever gauge or tool you use to do your setup with has to repeat.

If you get different readings every time it could be the gauge or your car so you need to know for sure your gauge is right.
