Default Battery life - belt vs shaft?

I've got a t2 009 I just put together, and trying to figure out why the battery life is so amazing! Using the same batteries on my Slash, I'll get 20-40 minutes, depening on trigger control. With the t2, I only ran through 1600mAh in a whole hour! Is the batt life due to the belt?

My buddy is going to get a car for drifting, and want't to know if the belt give the incredible batt life, or is it just that drifting is a low load activity?

What motors do you have in the Slash?

Oh right.

Just running the stock Velineon system. Batts are Zippy FlightMax 2s 4000mAh hard case.

Gearing and weight also play a factor in runtime.
