there's no difference in the two besides color. Also its not complicated at all the book explains everything. But I would recomend that you get acustomed to the radio before you go race with it.

The "Black" 3PK if marked MEGATECH does not carry the same warranty as MAGNUM branded 3PK. Call Futaba for clarification and specifically mention MEGATECH, see what they say about warranty?

I checked with Futaba when the 3PK first came out... they will not do warrantee service for "Megatech" marked radios... you'll have to pay a service/labor/parts charge. If you're in the US spend the extra $$$ and get the "Magnum" version.. you won't regret it...

The same replies I got when I talked to them yesterday. I do have the Magnum 3PK and a Black Megatech and they will require periodic service/calibration.

Does anyone know if a KO 75mhz receiver and/or crystals will work with the Futaba 3PK? Thanks.

Hey MO,
I don't know about 75 band, but my 27 band KO receivers and crystals work great with my Futaba 3PK.

Yeah, 27 band is pretty much interchangeable but I don't want to switch bands. I already have 5 KO receivers and 6 sets of crystals and it would cost way too much to replace all that stuff. I'll just get the Helios if the 3pk isn't compatible.

Mo,

I will be at SW on Saturday and I use the 3PJ. We can "see" if my 3PJ works with your receivers. If not, looks like you are getting a new Helios.

Cool. I think the 3pj and the 3pk have the same modules too, right?

Yes they do. I have three modules so we can do a test with Futaba crystals and a test with KO crystals back to back.

I been using a 3PK for 6 month now and is a very good radio. Only problem I had was with the HRS receivers not working with some ESC and Brushless controllers.
