Keep your electronics light and your batteries around 230grams and you should be weighing 1350grams to 1380grams...

If you are referring to these...

They change the geometry of the inner hing pins for the arms. Squares and triangles just refer to which part goes where on the car. If you download the manual, you'll see what i mean.

The other mounts allow you to change things like toe, anti-squat and kick-up. If you do a little more research on Tower Hobbies you'll se some aluminum mounts used on the FT Team TC4.

For vta you'll want to use a 60t or 66t robinson spur gear ....

Can someone post all of the different combinations of the mounts and the toe-in that they make ???

I'd like to get to zero rear toe-in for VTA Oval, but I don't know what combination of rear arm mounts make up zero toe-in ???

Thx

They should be on the manual, if you do not have it you can download it on the AE web site.

Unfortunately, been there--done that. The manual isn't any help.

I have attached a screenshot of the only section in the entire manual that even mentions rear toe -- it does not provide a chart showing the different combinations of front and rear blocks and the resulting amount of rear toe

The tc4 rear toe only goes down to 2 degrees, and you have to make your own modifications to get it down from there. Good luck !

What I would do is get a set of calipers and measure the hole spacing of the rear block and see what the spacing is on the others. I think the hub has some toe built in so you may be able to swap sides on the hubs and get less toe in.

The Arms also might be contributing but I don;t have my car in front of me and when I get it out I'll take a look to see what I see

That's true -- I think that some guys were swapping out the rear axle carriers for Losi ones. I'm wondering if the reason was that those had less toe-in ?

Thx

The Associated rear hubs aren't side specific, so there won't be any toe whatsoever. The Losi ones might have some toe built in, so there would be a left and right. Then it would just be a matter of switching them around.

If you want to do some serious research on rear-toe for oval racing, go to custom works website.

http://www.customworksrc.com/aa_support/support01.php

Many of those setups are asymetrical. For example, left rear toe will be in the 2-4 degree range and the right rear toe will be in the 0-2 degree range.

Not sure why you want zero, but it makes for some interesting reading...

I have a question for all of the faithful TC3 / TC4 racers.

I remeber back in the day there was a special was to shim the diffs I know there were little tricks to the trade can some one tell any special things that will help getting the diffs ultra butter smooth. I think you had to trim some plastic off of the diff housings and use some niftech tc3 stuff but I'm not sure.

http://niftech.com/

Thanks for your time and help

Trial and Error is my method.

Shim it, put it together, test it.

Repeat until it's smooth. Sometimes i'd shave some plastic from the case, other times it was the tightness of the screws for the top of the case.

I've even had issues with the bearing cap in front of the spur.

All it takes is patience.
