I am looking for insight on the TC4 and how it compares to the HPI Pro4. I currently run a XXX-S in the stock class at my (very competitive) indoor carpet track and I am looking at either of these cars as a immediate replacement. I have enjoyes running my XXX-S and I am run well with it, but I am looking for a more aggressive car.

Thanks and BTW I understand that this is probably not the best place for unbiased answers. BUT, I know that there are some serious racers out there who may offer some insight based on their experiences.

Did you look at the setup I posted before you said you thought it was a foam setup? It says right on there he used Yokomo tires and inserts....it was a rubber setup man. The Novak Race was all rubber tire until 2003 0r 2004. sheesh

Jeel- You running at BBT or madness? If you run at madness I would say either stick with you losi and get set ups from dumas, or switch to an xray if you want to try out a new car, the AE is very good, but from I have been told there are a few pretty decently dialed xray's at that track, and Chris Marcy normally i think has every single part for that car in stock. TC4 parts he should have as well, but right now, they a little tough for everyone to get in large quantities. Chris also probably has some pro 4 parts since I know that at least one person runs one there and does quite well with it as well.

If you are running at BBT, Scott Futardo has a dialed XXX-S set up you shouldl get off him, his car is really good (Btw, if you want an agressive set up, scott is defently the man for that). For the TC4, eric has been working really hard to find a really fast set up, and from what he told me, his car is quite good, but parts again can be an issue for a little while. I dont think anyone really runs a pro 4 there who figured it out for that track (And BBT is funky set up wise in comparison to most other tracks). Also I dont think steve has any pro 4 parts.

Hey Storm,

Thanks. I am running at BBT and ran my first race on Sunday. You'll love this one...Scott Furtado got rid of his XXX-S! I think I should probably go TC4, as you stated as I need to learn more about setup. I ran 3rd in the A with 25 laps, but I realized that my car is ready for retirement due to wear and tear. You run a TC4, correct?

Stogie:

What exactly did you do to the TC4 rack to tighten it up?

The shims went under the bearings and the knife was for what again?

I just want to get it even tighter knowing it will all loosen up as I drive it..

TC4 set up

I checked out the set up sheet from Comp X site... 6 Deg caster block? I've heard of 2 & 4 Deg Blocks, when did they start making 6 Deg blocks and why would you use them?

not sure if AE is same as Xray which it probably is since its just c-hubs, but 6* will make you go into the corners more agressive then 2 or 4 i think. Someone should double check me.
