I had a great time racing my TC4 at the 2015 USVTA SOUTHERN NATIONALS last weekend. My TC4 was on was very good and got a lot of looks and complements from other racers that were surprised how fast my car was. Now to be honest I did not have the best runs of the weekend and ended up in the VTA C main. That was mostly my driver errors and not the car. I managed a second place finish in the dash for cash run that same weekend so I knew the car was better than what I was showing during the qualifiers. What was really awesome is when One of the A main drivers drove my car and was blown away by how free my car was. He could drive down the straight and let of the thottle and my car would just free roll around the sweeper, into the first turn and into the second. That same driver was able to beat his best lap time with my car. So Monday he bought a TC4 and is working on it now.

January 26th - 31st will be my first Snowbirds. VTA will be one of the classes I compete in. I got a lot of training to do but I feel if adjust my driving style a little I can make this car look good.

Imagine if you were driving my tc4.2....lol.... I just discovered a blown rear left bearing in my car, and I remembered racing the car with it, and not even feeling it... Anyway, I just ordered a hudy setup station, and will be correctly setting things up from now on...
Do you weigh your VTA body Will???
You can lose 60grams up top with the tc4 aluminum screw set , a superlight VTA body(0.5mm), a CF driveshaft, and a cut motor cam, etc.... There is another second per lap out there you can get with this car....
Wish me luck with the setup station.....Amain BERT will be my New name....lol.....

Snowbirds >>>

How are you for weight now?

Odd bit, (may be a track thing) notice that many have the battery plug-ins forward. Have found, on the tracks I've raced on, my TC4 pushes with plug-in forwards.

I honestly have never thought of the weight distribution within the battery.

he is right about the weight distribution of the battery. The battery lighter on the plug side. I didnt have any push issues but now that i think about it my car was pretty balanced. I will swap it around on my net track day....

Yes Snowbirds.....

My car was a wopping 1565. I was using a HPI camaro body instead of my normal protoform Javelin or Firebird choices and a standard size servo only because I destroyed my low pro servo in a crash earlier that weekend. TC6.2 shocks yokomo 3 hole pistons and pink front / blue rear springs. RSD bladders with 35wt shock oil front and rear.

What about the shims under the block? Or are the blocks on the chassis?

Some have even gone to the trouble of milling down the blocks so they sit lower. I had my aluminium ones milled 1mm and I use a .5mm spacer as the full 1mm was a bit too much

Cheers

GPM Racing does make an aluminum steering rack for the TC4. I did a quick search on eBay and you can find several currently listed.

You should also be able to buy one from any of the online stores that stock GPM parts (assuming they have them in stock).
