Both my TC4s came like this and it confused me. Its most likely got a solid front axle which is what you want for any type of rubber tire racing.

@nutdriver I wasn't trying to be sneaky I called the track and specifically asked if I could run foam tires on my car. I was told no in stock but in Mod I could run them so that's what I did.

Gooba,

Think this might be a case of mistaken identity. I didn't say anything about being sneaky.

What is the best way to set up the differentials?
How tight should they be?
Is it better to have the rear tighter than the front?
Any difference in setting up diffs for carpet versus asphalt?

Thanks for any advice, I'm new and am rebuilding a tc4 and tc3, any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

I prefer a tighter front diff and looser rear diff on carpet on asphalt it depends on track size smaller track I run same as carpet big flowy tracks i like them both tight

Ok so I got a chance to really dig into the car more tonight. First I found that my aluminum motor mount was broke. Apparently this caused the spur gear to be bad. Can I still get the aluminum motor mount to replace it? Also what is the best way to change out the spur gear? From the looks of it I need to take of the c-clip, end gear, bearing then some how press out the pin to take off the mount for the spur gear. Or is there an easier way of doing it?

My asphalt NOT carpet setting.

Have the front solid axle, manual rear setting is 1/2 turn loose >> I run 3/8 to 1/4 turn loose.

Some of the guys that I race with run their 6, 6.1 and 6.2 so loose they are almost front wheel drive!!!!!!

===

Side bit >>> race a Losi XXX-S in VTA ran the rear 1/2 turn loose and this burnt the diff balls into the diff. So I'm a bit afraid to run 1/2 turn loose with the TC4.

A couple pages back, the FT carbon motor mounts were reported to be almost impossible to find.

The club motor mount is still available.

Ft motor mounts can be found on eBay. There's a guy that sells all the parts to convert a club racer to a FT kit that has them.

The Diggity Designs chassis for the TC4 includes a motor mount. Last time I looked, he didn't have any of the motor mounts in stock for individual sale. Finding just the FT TC4 motor mount is going to be difficult at best.

Diggity chassis looks like it has a "Club" motor mount.
