Are you trying to fix up a FT TC4? You might find a roller for sale and buy it that way. I could not find the part.

Xtreme R/C has/had TC3 motor mounts that also have a bearing carrier for the drive shaft. Penguin R/C sells an adapter to support the stock bearing carrier when used on a non-tub chassis.

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on YoDog's chassis that he posted pics of on page 881.

The old timers will remember, that adding or not a ballstud washer was tuning option on the B3/T3's front outer link mount.

The TC4 has NEVER been this steady on the track.

If you can post your entire setup here, including what tire used and class I'd be grateful. Always looking for a fast asphalt setup for TC4 VTA or at least rubber tire.

Hi Terrance,

When you note 4 or 5 for the suspension mount shims does that mean the total height in mm of the shims or the number of shims? They come in two diff thicknesses right? 1 tab and 2 tab markings? Or is it total number of tabs? Like two, two tab shims and one, one tab shim makes 5? Just trying to understand your roll center.

The "0" mount has a shorter height compared to the "X" mount so you have to put more shims in equal the "X" height. The "0" mount is used to reduce the rear 3 degrees to 2 degrees.

Each "tab" is worth .025 shim thickness (per the TC4 manual).

The asphalt tracks are either sealed (100% traction) or soda treated (100 to 90% traction) that I'm racing on.

I'm a off road guy (9 years) who has two on road RC's (7 months). So I don't think about roll center, FDR, or traction roll cause that's not very useable info for off road.

New tires, a spacer added or removed at the links or wheelbase and I'm good. I do look at setup sheets that best fit the tracks, compare each to the others to get a base setup and work from there.

Had a fun day of practice/testing at our local outdoor track. I worked on different tires, motors and bodies to get a feel for the differences in handling. The car worked really nice. (Sorry that I don't have video yet) Once again, many of the drivers took notice and asked what chassis I was running. Still making some minor tweaks and finalizing the CNC programming but the holidays are taking some time away from making quick progress. I will likely make two versions of the chassis. One with the mounting points for the side braces and one without. I want to do some shorty pack testing next time out to establish a good balance with weight distribution.

Hi Terrance, thanks for sharing the setup! If you don't mind me asking, what's the idea behind running 0* castor up front, I never heard of that before. Is the car stable and doesn't wander on the straights? Is there enough camber gain thru the turn?

Also, all the hing pin spacers, is that to raise the inner end of the lower a-arms so they'll be parallel to the ground due to the low ride height? I've always questioned running any angle on lower a-arms. In my autocrossing experience, my truck (yep truck) always handled better when the lower a-arms were parallel to the ground, even better than if the truck was lowered more because that caused the a-arms to angle up.

I would guess that after adding all the hing pin spacers, the upper inner links needed to be lowered to make the upper links parallel to the ground (or parallel to the lower links). ?

Thanks again, congrats on the TQ and win! The setup is obviously working :-)
