Finished my DC4 chassis, looks sweet and can't wait to run when the track re-opens after the holidays.
Bit of an eyeopener though in weighing things up.
My Tub setup track ready weighed 1316g with 4200 Shorty pack. With same pack and steel turnbuckles on the Diggity I am at 1288g, a drop of only 28g and the DC4 has alloy screw kit and FT light weight bumper on it the Tub did not. Both weighed with same Electronics/Body/Tires.
That said the DC4 is still 34g lighter than my Brothers TC6.2 with same electronics.
Both cars will get a little lighter and quicker today when our ORCA gear arrives, Tx17.5/VXX.
I realize weight isn't the be all end all but just goes to show all the light weight stuff isn't as light weight as you might expect, buyers be warned.
Will post pics when I get the new electronics in it today/tomorrow.

Interested to see where you mounted your shorty pack ... forward back or middle.
Rob, whats in your car to get under 1200g?
I have my Shorty mounted forward with ESC behind it as posted by Jeff J in the Diggity thread.
For out 17.5 class there will be a spec limit weight but for one 'track' on gymnasium floor there is no limits in open BL, only a spec tire Shumi Mini Pins. On the wood lower weight the better. I should shed some with the new lighter motor and esc about to go in it.

The only steel screws I have are the 8 for the suspension blocks, everything else is either Ti or Aluminum. I switched the shocks out for SpecR plastic bodies. Sanwa small receiver for my MT4, Tekin Rs esc, R1 motor with Yeah Racing aluminum fan mount, Plastic rear axles, Aluminum fronts, lite weight diffs all around with ceramic balls and Orca shorty pack.
Im about 1180g on my scale minus the Bitty MC10 body I run.
If you switch to Sorex jb tires you will lose another 26+grams, and if you get the Blitz gsf (0.5mm) body(60grams), you will lose another 30grams on top of that... My thunderpower 2700mah full size pack weighs only 168grams for another 50grams loss... I will not recommend switching to titanium hinge pins, turnbuckles, and ballstuds because of their enormous pricetag, but if you want to push it and go under 1100grams, then go for it......The tc4 can be light, but I still think that gearing higher(with non shielded bearings) than the belt cars is the way to win with the tc4/shaftdrive cars....

I found 8-32 pitch knurled nuts on Amazon.com. They work with my setup station. The 8-32 axles are snug, but they fit. Check out the pic below.

Ok. My car is 1160 without a pack and body on. I don't want to get to light as the track I frequent most weight minimum is 1400 and I am not about to add a ton of lead to my car. it's bad fast as it is. Just needs a better driver. @ robert421 if I guess right the axle goes thru that top hole? Can u just change the nut that holds it on or is it threaded also?

Associated still shows them as in stock you should be able to order on from any of the major online retailers
Question for all of you. I am setting up my Factory Team TC4 for a 21.5 foam class at my local track. All the old foam setups I am finding for the car say you should run a diff in the front set it very tight. The car currently has a sold axle in the front, and I would have to track down a diff if I was going to switch to it to match the setups as I bought the car used and it didn't come with it. Do you guys think that it's beneficial to switch to a diff for running foam or will I be okay with the solid axle? It seems that all the rubber setups run the sold axle and all the foam setups run the diff but is there really a big difference?
