can you fit a TC3 steering rack on a FTTC4 or do you need new holes for the studs?

I have a TC4 Club Racer I run in the VTA class. Is there a good less expensive threaded shock that anyone would recommend ?

I have been eyeing these in link below but at this price I'm debating if they are any better than the plastic shocks on the club racer. If anybody has tried these with decent results would love to hear it.

What's a good driveline efficency check?

Is 5 seconds of free spinning without a motor / pinion installed good?

I'm just a sucker for a good free driveline.

If anyone has some good tricks let us know.

*shimming
*dremal out diff case
*white lightning gear grease
*Soak bearings in lighter fluid to clean out the grease
*one drop of Avid bearing oil
*remove bearing shields
*make sure the diff housing isn't pinching the bearing or out drives
*remove both diff housings from the chassis and spin the shaft drive cup to compare between the two diff housings for efficency on your work surface.

What's a good bearing to use????

Any other tips or tricks out there????

Thanks,
E.

Hi
Regarding bearing oil, i think i have tried most on the market and the best for me is ZX1 micro lube. Very free action and it seems to improve the action of the bearing the longer you use it for. I also add a tiny drop to each ball joint too this improves suspension feel a touch.

I just wanted to say hi on this tread by the way i have just bought a DC4 LE to race in 13.5T boosted here in the UK (asphalt low to medium grip) in the BRCA Nationals over here. It will be great to see how the car competes against the new TC6.2s, Mi5s, awsometrix cars.

Any set up tips for the above?

Thanks
Tom

for the driveline just pull the rubber shields off the bearings and it should be mint. Mine is quite free but I find the diffs just need to be ran hard in order for them to be sloppy (that's what she said) enough to be free.

Other than that timing the spin is basically moot as it's hard to spin it at the same rate each time etc.

but it's fun in the pits to pop your pinion off and spin the driveline with all of the belt cars around feeling sad and slow lol

You guys already have it covered... I like to use those so called penetrating micro lubes: zmaxx,bestline,etc.... Then, I after letting it spin for a while, I take it off with motor spray and oil the Bearings with Acer Syn lube.... If you want extreme wheelspin, you can dip the Bearings into a water base polish(master formula), make them spin slowly with a dremel for a while, and then clean them with motor spray, and then do the microlube treatment... It takes alot of time, and I rather do the microlube treatment only, and gear the car to the moon compared to belt cars, so the guys at the track will think I'm running boost..lol...

The TC4 picture I posted a couple pages back is the Orange body car sitting in the TQ #1 spot.

The car in position #2 is a $700 Awsomactic and all the other cars are Xray T4 2014, 2013, TC6.1WC ect...

I would say this car is pretty dialed in....!!!

It's nice to see folks stick to the older cars and not buying the next flavor of the month touring car.

I would love to see that setup. That car was super planted but still able to rotate hard around the 180's I can;t get my car to do that. If it rotates It's loose in the rear everywhere else
