I also ran 3.65FDR with a 12.3mm rotor, so now with the 12.5mm rotor, CF shaft, and lighter battery pack(Tp2700 35C 168grams), I will take my chances at 3.4375FDR.... Wish me luck !!!.... My car weighs 1422grams now. Close enough to the 1380g limit..... Happy racing...
Also, for the first time ever my 13.5t FTtc4 got under the weight limit at 1373grams, so of course I am gearing up to 3.94FDR ....lol..... We'll see what that does too !!!

I will report back my findings for sure.....

It is dangerous to recommend someone gear any car gear it up to 3.4:1 or even higher without knowing exactly what they are running and how.

Anyone know what this part will do on a tc4.
I guess it will let you move your motor closer to the center but I could be wrong.

it should, I use washers/spacers, 4mm is about the max you can get before you run out of shaft to mount the pinnion.

Thumbs up

Had the TC4 with the Diggity Chassis out to Lou's Speedway near London Ontario for initial runs. I managed to set a New Track 8 Minute CVTA Record - Canadian 21.5 Vintage TransAm 1450 Grams - which previously was held by VBC Team Driver and Roar National Champion Dave Johnson's prototype Ghost VBC during the Fall Fiasco a few weeks ago. I was using the Stock TC4 Arms but added Yokomo Shocks with 350 Oil, Yellow Front Springs and Blue Rear Springs. I was geared at 82 Spur with a 56 Pinion. I also ran an Eric Wippler Carbon Shaft. I used a Protoform Javelin Body. I ran 4mm Droop front and rear, no sway bars. Stock Composite CVDs front and rear. Also 6 Degree Caster Blocks.

More performance to come.

That's awesome Elliot first run with the car and broke the record......!!!

Which version DC4 chassis are you using?
Standard, flex or hard?
Did you cut the chassis down yet?

Nice carpet track

I ran the standard chassis plate which I trimmed. I'll post pictures this weekend. I'll be adding LOSI LCD shafts for next week.

I ran a standard tub chassis with Xray Shocks for a few races in CVTA when the Club Racer first came out and won the 3 A Mains I entered with it. The best lap was within 1/10th of my usual Xray T4 at that time. We were trying to show that you don't have to spend lots to run Canadian Vintage TransAm at Lou's Speedway.

Dave Johnson's VBC Ghost recorded a best lap of 10.8, I ran a best of 10.9 in a qualifier. That's the Best Lap to beat right now. Dave will probably improve that time the next time he is at Lou's so I have some work to do.

The reason I mention Dave is just to point out that Lou's Speedway attracts some very competitive racers. Adam Hutchinson who works at Lou's won the Vintage TransAm at the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland a couple of years ago. I just wanted to use this information as a baseline for the performance potential of the TC4.

Are you a bot or something? Stop trying to get people to burn their cars down. You KNOW this gearing story is massively aggressive and you still spam it like a Nigerian prince scam artist.

My next upgrade....

Has anyone tried this?

TC5 slipper-spool pads and leave out the rings on the front diff. The slipper pads will keep your gears safe.

Let me know.

It's almost VTA time

Works great, make sure you have steel outdrives, remove ALL balls from the diff. You will need to lightly sand the spool pads and dont forget to use lock tite on the bolt.
