Time to upgrade my shocks from the plastic club spec.

Who makes a better shock Spec-R or the TC6.1?

My buddy has a Spec -R and they are super smooth.

I have driven the tc5, tc6, tc6.1 and the worlds edition. My old FTTC4 still has a better "FEEL" I love the sound the shafties make.

Now saying that the newer chassis's have better adjustments (but I really Love what they did to the TC6.2)

Wink

I use the tamiya #49355 shocks on one of my tc4's with very good results...
It would be nice if AE would try to upgrade the tc4, but I don't think they are paying attention to the tc4 at all... Maybe we all need to start winning every race we enter, and then they will consider... Personally, I don't have a close permanent carpet track to really practice on, and my work schedule sucks... If things change a bit, I'll try to practice twice a week, instead of once every three months....

#42102 , 43$ on rcmart. At that price it would be plain crazy to buy anything else.

We did, thats why the release of the tc4 club comes in. The tc4 and tc3 platforms are winning races in vta and gt. Which ae took notice.

For higher end classes 17.5 tc or mod , ae comes with tc6.1 and now tc6.2

little or no upgrades are really needed to compete in the slower classes. Other than front cvd

The tc4 needs a few 17.5t tc wins for AE to recognize its potential in that class... More entries in 17.5t blinky is what's needed..... Usgt is also not far removed from 17.5 , and the tc4 won that already, no contest....

I just think it would be interesting to see a TC4.1
With short carbon fiber towers, short big bore shocks, new lipo chassis, carbon fiber shaft.

I know we will probably never see it.

Just saying it would be interesting.

I see what your saying about the release of the club spec but that's really not a revision that moved the platform to another level say like the 6.1 to a 6.2.

I really like the layout that Ray has with the shorty pack and the electronics that looks like a really well balanced car.

Don't listen to me I'm just thinking out loud...

I would hope that either AE or diggity design are taking notes...

There is always room for improvements in any kit, including the dc4 le, as red line has pointed out... I also would like a thinner chassis, which can be solved with a dremel, but would rather buy such an option instead of hacking the present chassis... The car can always use the Hobao/T4 short shocks and another hacked shocktower, but racers would rather purchase one than.....well you get the picture.... The same goes for the dcj's....

Remember guys, the yokomo bd7 is still winning with long shocks, etc.... Don't give up on your present configuration just yet... What I see in the Yokomo setup sheets is how high their cars are geared vs others.... Some gear their 17.5t blinky at 3.1FDR for outdoor, and 3.68FDR for carpet... Therefore, I will follow suit with my tc4 gearing formula, and start gearing at 3.43FDR for carpet, and possibly go higher than that if it looks promising....

This is just bad advice. Never, ever gear up on faith, especially on the advice of an unknown source on the internet.

3.75FDR did not yield any heat in my tc4 the last time I ran it , so I am gearing up baby..... Don't hate, and don't take my advice if you don't want to, but the yokomo boys are killing every undergearer out there, so I'll join the overgearer crew and burn some motors too.....lol... I will report back my findings for sure.....
