I just purchased a TC4 Factory Team car and it came with a 17.5 Novak motor. What size is the shaft (3mm, 5mm) In essence, what pinion gear do I need. I will also purchase some spur gears... What are the most durable? ?Kimbrough.. Can you suggest a spur/pinion combo for a 1/8 scale on road track with a straight about 200+ feet.

Thanks in advance...

Any tire recommendations... I will not be able to ask at the track as most guys run Nitro 1/8 scale cars...

shaft is 1/8" just get some normal 48p gears from 35t up, you will also need a 60t spur (or 55t), robisnon makes all the gears you will need.

The tc4 track width is way too small: 188mm in front and 185.5mm in the rear !!! Use Xray #305380 ($5.99)shims to get it as close as possible to 190mm, and you will shave three seconds Off your laptimes... These shims are expensive, but Work like no other.... You'll need four to five sets of shims($24 to $30) to make it work... I believe tamiya makes these shims too, but they are hard to find...

Bertrandsv87,
what wheel width and offset are your measurements based upon?

last weekend i had my first race with my Diggity Designs DC4 LE converted tc4. the car drives amazing and since this is a limited edition kit anyone who does not have one needs to hurry before they are all gone as they are a very nice upgrade to the car. the car drives alot better and handles amazingly. the added flex really helps out with making the car more consistant on rubber tires and easier to drive the car harder! only problem is i was running modified and the composite ball diff did not like it. I melted 2. looks like my gear diff is going in!!

I am measuring the track width of the tc4 with Sweep qts 32 Tires.... I don't know what offset they are, but they are the spec Tires used for carpet Racing at most of the tracks in NY/NJ..... I also got to get some tamiya(#53646) shims to have different shim thickness on hand.... The tamiya shims come 0.5mm & 1mm thick vs the xray 0.75mm....

Nice to see the DC4 running well. What gear diff did you get to fit?

I'll take three.

The car actually works pretty well with just the ball diffs though, maybe 17.5 is the limit.

If b44 diffs work in the car then we might have a short wait as the guys at the worlds are running gear diffs in there b44.2 buggys.
