I meant to limit rear droop enough so the rear(soft enough springs) can sink all the way down to the floor in the turns, lowering the CG, thereby lifting the opposite side front tire(low droop)... Full droop will make One side of the rear raise up, raising the CG(traction roll), eventhough the opposite side front tire will lift Off the ground(on power steering).... It's a weird balance though...

You really need the Niftech titanium shaft and spool/lcd drive to run mod....

Hi Guys,

I am looking to get back into racing, I want a shaft car and am looking at the TB04 or maybe this car, is this the same as the APEX kit?

I am swinging to the TB04 as it has some new features, but I can get associated spares cheaply at my local store.

The TC4 is not the same as the Apex. The Apex car is a re-badge Thunder Tiger car.

I'd go for the one you can get parts easily. I've hit so many pipes with my TC4 I have proven to myself it is a durable car and very competitive.

Hello TC4 crowd. I am trying to get back into tc racing, but can't make up my mind. I used to race a TC3 at my local track against many other chassis and didn't do to bad. I see that diggity designs has a new graphite chassis DC4. What does every one think about this new chassis conversion, I am starting all over again with a new chassis.

I have bought a DC4. However, I have not put it together yet. I will though. I have a Factory Team TC4, that I use for VTA (the local track races VTA and Tamiya Spec sedan classes). When I put a Lipo in it becomes tweaked badly. I have tried a couple of different battery mounts; Velcro strap, tape and the AE posts. It appears the top deck and the LiPo case interfere with each other. I tried to make a new LiPo mount, but still had issues with the top deck.

I like the motor mount of the Factory Team and the DC4. I have over twenty years experience and parts with/for Associated cars. I just did not want to spend twice as much for a new car with equivalent performance. I do have an old used X-Ray that I have if I want to try a belt car.

Plus the local hot shot driver races shaft drive cars. He states shafts are for racing, belts are for holding up your pants.

My Diggity Designs DC4 feels like a modern touring car. I'm still playing with it, right now the setup is a bit weird and the car is down on power but I'll have a week of putting the car through the grinder at Vegas in October, so that will show its true colors with grip, swaybars, stuff like that.

There are some pictures a few pages back, if you're interested.

They are not the same car. The DC4 is much lighter and more flexible.

As for the tweak, I would cut the TC4 top deck down to eliminate the tweak, and then just use a few pieces of 2-sided tape for the mounting.

There is a large cutout in the center of the upper deck. If I cut away the part of the upper deck that is causing the problem, I will have nothing. The DC4 has a slimmer solid center upper deck.

If the DC4 is lighter than my TC4 will have to replace all of the titanium screws with all stainless screws and buy more tungsten. I had to add 500 grams to make the VTA weight with a heavy body.

Double sided tape, never thought of that. The battery hardly stays put with filament packing tape.
