Desert, you'll need a front spool to get maximum Performance....

Spools aren't for everybody or every car. I don't think you need one to be competitive.

I race 17.5 on a dusty ice rink.

Really, the car feels fine, very quick on sorex rubber.

Tc4 ball diffs can take the power of a 5.5t motor, but I doubt that they can take anymore without issues.... 17.5t with ball diff is fine ...

I have a FT TC4 (dual deck carbon fiber car) with a 9.5 tekin gen2 motor and tekin RS esc
I thought the front one ways were mainly for drifitng?
how does it benefit the car? I know when not on throttle, the front wheels free spin

So the maiden voyage of my Dc4 fell apart on the 3rd lap when my rear diff went! going to have to wait a few weeks for a new 1 and some other goodies. Will try and post with details of how the car is driving.

Regards Joe

Days of the one-way have been gone for years now. In order to make use of a one-way you need a track with a LOT of grip. The basic principle is that you still have 4wd on acceleration but off power the front wheels are free to maintain their rotation which allows the car to carry more corner speed. The result when driven well is a faster car in the corners.

The downside is that with low traction the free spinning wheels make it easy to spin out on corners as does jerky driving. Basically you have to brake in a straight line or the rear end will come around.

As for how they work in drifting i have zero-experience with that so maybe someone who does will chime in on that regard.

Associated has a front one-way option for the TC4/FT TC4/Club Racer. If you can find one in stock its #3978.
