A 23t pinion and 69t spur gear should get you close to the speeds you want. keep a watch on motor temps.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a carbon drive shaft to fit a TC4?

I heard IndyRC_Racer say on Friday night (when he was showing one of his TC4s with a carbon drive shaft to someone) that "you can't get them anymore."

So, buy new? No. Find a used one on the secondary market? Maybe.

One of our local racers contacted Eric Wippler to make some up. Apparently he needs a few more orders to get going.

The TC3 carbon drive shaft will work on the TC4, but you will need to use TC3 input cups (because the roll pins on the TC3 shaft are a larger diameter). Obviously you can also use the TC4 aluminum shaft on a TC3.

If you can find someone with a TC3, you could always swap drive shafts assuming they want a blue aluminum shaft. You could also buy a used TC3, hopefully for a good price. If the TC3 had steel diffs, good bearings, good cvds/bones, and stub axles it might be worth it just for those spare parts.

There are aftermarket drive shafts out there if you can find them, or get them made. The best drive shaft was titanium and made by Niftech. I just sent them an email but got a bounce back, so they must be out of business.

Hi Guys, first post in this thread. I just got a TC4 club kit. I have the aluminium hex hubs, but cant get the axle pins to fit. they are too large. Any suggestions?

The carbon shaft, although light, does not flex and can explode in a race and cause a dnf ... I prefer the Niftech shaft for mod and the AE aluminum shaft for 13.5t down... My stock shafts do not wobble also because of the losi lcd drives that reduce driveline vibrations alot.....
