A shorty 2S lipo pack is the easiest way to loose alot of weight, the second biggest saving is in the diffs and driveshafts. Aluminum diff halves and driveshafts orplastic driveshafts if you are not running a spool will save a ton of weight in the car but as it is a drivetrain loss it will make the car very responsive to throttle input. Less rotating weight = quick spin up.

After that well you really have to go to the proper FT kit, don't buy any of the stock parts again in carbon, their is no difference in weight, even on something big like the chassis.

I have a FT tc4 at 1393grams with all the suggested weight savings, except that I run a novak gtb, a glitch capacitor, and a normal futaba rx and servo...... If I changed my electronics, I would get down to the 1320's easily..... It performs well , and ,though a bit overgeared , nothing overheats and I don't lack any punch at all.... Running a light pack is a must though....

Will the shorty pack last a 8 minute Main without fading.... If so what size and C rating. suggest a couple of brands if you can, I like to buy at LHS, keep them in business.

Best pack is thunderpower at its highest capacity, unless you want to stay light..... Rpm rod ends are necessary in the tc4 for best control.... I just installed them in mine, and wow , what a difference....

The biggest shorty pack is the 4400mah one intellect make unless Thunder Power have came out with a new part? Well I race two 6 minute heats in 10.5/13.5 0' timing indoors on carpet from one pack before I change packs, generally this uses 2500-3000mah from the lipo.

Mines weighs 1430g with a BMI chassis kit, shorty lipo, steel slipper spool and dogbones up front and IRS aluminum diff and plastic dogbones in the rear. I can't remember exactly what it was before with carbon chassis parts but it wasn't far away from 1430g but that was with aluminum diffs and plastic dogbones front and rear.

Conrad, 1430grams is not bad at all with a 212gram/218gram shorty pack. Thunderpower shorty pack is 3800mah, but 65C not 50C like the intellect packs, and weighs 6grams less....

I have a tc4 club racer that came with the 3.0 X rear arm mount and I am wanting to change to the 2.5 X mount. I can only find the different x mounts in the factory team aluminum pieces. If I use the factory team x mount with the plastic square mount will it do weird things with the anti-squat or pro-squat because they are different heights to the hinge pin hole? Or are they the same heights?

I run my rtr tc4 with the 2 toe block in the rear with no shims, and the high front hinge pin blocks that came with the rtr. That combo gives the Car alot of antisquat with low roll Center that eliminates traction roll, but I have to run only One degree rear camber to get traction.... I also run three degrees front camber, and Ft aluminum hinge pin blocks with no shims for low roll Center..... The Car handles great with no rear spinout with properly prepped Tires....

Day 1 in the books, my TC4 is sitting in 2nd place after 4 rounds. 2 more rounds in the morning then the Mains, I hope to do the TC4 proud. It handles even better now that she weighs less

Had a great weekend, ended up 3rd in the A main. Not the cars fault, driver error on the first lap, went back to 10th and had to work thru the field. Thanks for the ideas on my car, it handled great... Another TC4 took 2nd....

This was a VTA 25.5 2 cell weekend, last weeks track was a 17.5 1 cell.
It's really fun to drive both, but I actually like the 17.5 better. It really makes you try keeping momentum going to be fast. Makes you a better driver. Just my opinion, not trying to start any trouble

Default Metal Steering Rack Upgrade?

I am about ready to throw my TC4 chassis in the trash! The stock plastic steering rack keeps breaking right in the middle of the "V"... yesterday on the 1st lap of the very 1st heat of the day, and this was a brand new rack I'd just put in during the week!

I've spent hours Google searching for a metal upgrade but can find nothing to replace the stock cheap plastic, which I refuse to buy any more of. Another club member said there was at least one 3rd party maker of a metal upgrade, but at the time I wasn't able to get a source from him.

Does anyone have a source for an aluminum upgrade for the steering rack on the TC4?

Many thanks in advance!
