Hey Dave thanks for the offer, but over the weekend I found that some of my weight problems were from the chassis it self. I had read of people mentioning that their car was heavy and couldn't explain it. Looks like there were a batch of that were just heavy. So I just got a new Carbon tub, and can feel the difference while holding the two chassis.

Thanks for the response though.

Posted this in another section of the forum and was advised to come here.
sorry if this is all already answered here but it is a lot of reading...

i joined the forum some time ago, but due to circumstances have been away from all things RC since then.

i've got a TC4 which is pretty much as it came out of the box (aside from being assembled) which i've had since 2006.

i'm running a 12 double motor. and a vega v3 speed control. (old stuff i know, but it works...)

can anyone answer a few questions i have?

firstly, what is the trans ratio in the TC4?

what should i be looking for in regards final drive ratio?

what spur and pinion is recommended?

what should i aim for with the roll out?

and lastly, what is the best way to set up a diff correctly? i would prefer slight over steer to under, and i will be using it at the WLRC track in north london, England. not for racing, just having a laugh...

sorry if a thread like this already exists, i did have a quick search.

in advance, CHEERS!.
Olley.

can anyone answer a few questions i have?

firstly, what is the trans ratio in the TC4? internal ratio is 2.50

what should i be looking for in regards final drive ratio? 7.20/7.50are you keeping you brushed system?

what spur and pinion is recommended? 72std 24/25

what should i aim for with the roll out? well you have all this above

and lastly, what is the best way to set up a diff correctly? fully tighten but not over done, then unscrew between 1/4 and 1/2 turn specially if your diff is a little old, but open them and wash/grease them well again (on manual they give 1/2 turn)

i would prefer slight over steer to under, and i will be using it at the WLRC track in north london, England. not for racing, just having a laugh... set up as manual and work from there

Won't be getting the lcd's too much money for just a fun chassis, anyway, why do you think they are better than asso?

Another question I have, do the chassis braces 31001 are direct fit on TC3? front and back?

Cheers

save your pics on compy
open imageshack in another window and upload pic (one at a time)
then copy forum link
paste link on post

easy, you need to repeat for each pic but you can upload many on one post

will have a look at them in morning, it is bed time for me now

The 31001 don't fit the tc3 looking at the drawings; the tc3 uses 3879 instead . In any case you would have to line the holes up to be sure ! As far as lcd's , they solve front chatter issues, and since every other car has them, why not the tc3/tc4???

Get a Photobucket account. Its free. Set up your Android phone so any pics you take can be sent to your Photobucket account for free. Its painless.

Then you direct link your pic from Photobucket using the 'insert image' icon in your message box. Copy, paste, post.
