I've got a FT TC4 with the rubber topdeck and chassis. Im thinking of selling it. Its well used, but no more play than day 1. The rear underside of the chassis is down to about 1.5mm.

I have a buttload of spares, and two one ways to go with it.

How much do you guys think I could sell it for?

It used to be my racer, but I just turned it into my drifter for kicks.

I love the associated tc3/4 design, I just wish they made a new shaft car

Been into off-road electric for a while now. Just decided to pick up a Touring car because there are alot of nice tracks around me. I bought the rtr tc4. Is there anything i must replace or should replace in order to race? I know its an older truck. But i wanted a quality rtr to start learning on. Later on i can get a kit and build.

As far as the car mechanically... threaded shock bodies and a steel front diff (if it doesnt come with one). Threaded shock bodies make suspension setup MUCH easier. A front steel diff is more durable. You can add titanium turnbuckles if ya like... but they arent really needed at first.

Buy good racing tires for track use (practice or race). Tires are 90% of how a car handles, and a crappy handling car is an unhappy driver.

As far as electronics go... upgrade them as you wish. Some tracks have class restrictions, which may make you upgrade them sooner than you wanted to... if racing is your goal. But im sure you can practice with what you have and have no problems.

The Tc4 is an older chassis... but it is capable.

Default TC4 Factory Team NZ

Hi Boys and Girls

Just thought I post some pics of my TC4FT and setup sheet.

I managed to get 2nd Overall for our Touring Stock Session here in our local Championship here in Dunedin, NZ.

We are still running Tamiya 540j motor in this class, but we are about to move to Lipo cells instead of Nicad batteries.

Bring on the New Session.

Anyone have a pic of the factory part with forced air cooling with the two fans? Anyone ever use it with a brushed motor? Make any difference? How does it compare to a clamp/fan cooler? Adaptable to a TC3?

Thanks.

Unless you cut out the chassis & drill the hole for the 2 mounting screws, it will not work on the tc3, since it will be sucking air from a closed space. If I make it to the track this weekend I'll show it to you. It keeps the endbell of a brushed motor real cool.

What do you guys run in the diffs? As in, I have a one-way, a ball diff, and a solid axle. Should I run the ball diff in front and the one way in the back? WHat do you guys do? thanks

Run the ball diff in the rear. For the front, it's really up to you. If your indoor on carpet & the track is tight, then you might want to try a ball diff up front as well.

Hi all.

I picked up a used FT TC4 that needs a little work and would appreciate any info you might have to share.

1. Any up grades recommended ?

2. What are you using for a battery tie down ?

3 Where is a good place to order wheels/tires from, both rubber and foam ?

4. Recommended tires for asphalt and carpet ?

thanks

1. Parma front bumper, and also I found myself breaking a lot of C-hubs, so I have aftermarket aluminum ones(Idk where they're from) and that fixed a lot of problems.
2. I've just been using thin strips of gorilla tape. Just because I haven't found some real tape. It works...
3. Amain, Tower, any of the big names. Though I can only talk for rubber, Idk about foams. Plus I get most my tires at my lhs.
4. Really depends on the tracks you go to. I've found that TakeOff CS27s are among the best for me. It may be different for you.
Hope that helps.
