Is the top-deck a drop in for the the Team Kit? I have been having some trouble with my steering as well, the car turns more in one direction then the other but I suspect that its a servo problem more or less.

A VERY common reason for this is if you missed the addendum that tells you to NOT set the servo horn straight vertical at "center" on steering but actually tip it about 1/8" (iir) toward the left side of the car (kinda like steering right) when your wheel is centered and the wheels are straight ahead.

Or if your radio settings are off, but check the above closely.

And no, the FT top deck isn't a drop-on for the Team car. The FT main plate is drilled for standoffs to support the top deck. FT's are available pretty reasonably, in fact I've got one I'd sell that's pretty nice. PM me if interested.

I'm not really looking for a new car but if you have parts then that I really need. I'm also pretty sure the servo horn is set up correctly (slightly off-center) but it still doesn't steer right. Maybe its the ball-joint being too stiff as I am not using the Associated Ball joint.

Can you tell what it's binding on? What is limiting its steering one direction to the other?

In order to get equal steering travel left to right on my RTR TC4 I had to adjust the EPA on my Futuba transmitter to limit some of the travel in one direction, and to add some travel in the other direction. This is with the servo arm installed correctly, partially rotated to one side.

I actually took a closer look and noticed that the servo mounts were cracked and when the servo arm moved it moved the whole servo so I went ahead and ordered some of the carbon mounts. Hopefully that will fix my problem. Thanks for the help guys!

I have looked and there are several setups for the TC4. Can someone tell me on the best for running on carpet with foam tires? thanks.

Default Issues with optional steel diff

I had my first run with my TC4. I wanted to have a spare car to my TC5.
I was only about 0.5 sec slower. So far so good.

I melted my rear diff. I had spare steel outdrives but the diff rings don't
fit due to the "D"-form of the rings. I hope you guys understand what i mean.
The shop on the track had rings from the NTC3 but they don't fit due to the
smaller dia. I ended up dremeling the rings to make them fit.
Surprisingly it worked. Does someone know the item# for the rings?
And also the # of the plastic part where the 2-56 locknut comes in?
(because there is no hex in the steel outdrives)

Thanks for your help...

Default Front Diff

Hey guys what are you running in your front diff. I run stock and always use a front one way but it seems spools and solid axles have been becoming more popular.

I always loved the how the one way worked in the stock rubber class but was wondering what expriences everyone else has.

I run a spool for stock 27t as well as 19t. All the guys with TC4/TC5's at our track run spools in the front, and fairly loose ball diffs in the rear.

That's the same thing i see around here. mostly everyone doing spools. That's why i was curious. I'm thinking about trying a spool and checking to see which is going to give me better results. When you go to the team associated setup sheets you see more spools on there setups also.

It took some getting used to when a local racer handed me a spool and said go to town. The car had a lot more turn in and a lot more steering overall. I didn't like it at first but after adjusting, I loved it.
