you really need to ask the 19t guys at your track what their FDR is, and then use that as your ball-park target.

Tom, check with Brad at the track. He ran that motor at the Reedy race and he can give you an idea of what to run based off of the track size differences.

Thanks Kraig

I talked to him the other day after i picked up the car and he said go big atleast a 32 tooth pinion. I was just hopeing to get some other feed back also. But i guess a 19 turn Amain driver at the Reedy race would be good enough to leason too LOL

Hope to see you at the track
thanks Tom

I wouldn't say its completely dead, but its certainly getting there. I jsut finally retired my FT TC4 for my new as yet to be built TC5 kit. I still plan or running my TC4 as a back up or kletting friends try it out in novice classes.

Default IT"S ALIVE

I'M ALIVE i had 2 tamiya ta05's and 1 ta05r. and let me tell you the tc4 smokes both these cars on asphalt. belt drive cars are really for carpet or a pro style onroad race track. not a parking lot surface. they last for a bit but then it's belt time, diff gear time. so being said i will never invest in the new tc5 as sweet as it looks. it's still a open belt design car.

those are for aluminum posts if you ever decide to run foam. they make the chassis stiffer.

The car's still pretty quick yeah. I had my best meeting in ages at the weekend running my ft indoor, rubber tyres, stock. I think over a lap I was only 2/3 tenths down on the top two racers at the club with their Xray and Cyclone Moorespeeds.

Was using a setup with Yokomo green springs all round (probably not that difference to AE blues), medium anti roll bar up front, thin roll bar at the rear. Front and rear shocks 2nd hole in at the top and front shocks mounted to wishbone in the outside hole.

My only real problem is getting the slop out of the car. I've never been able to get it out of the steering (has anyone???) and now I've got looooads from the suspension parts too. Overall though still a reasonable car.

Hi,

I've just got hold of a second hand team (not FT) TC4 and it appears that the diffs have been made wrong (there's no balls in them for a start!)

Are they the same as the TC3 ones? Can I just take it out of my TC3 and drop it into the TC4?

Thanks!

Yes you can. There should be no difference between the two cars. Pay attention to the shims on them though. You may have to add or remove depending on how tight the gear mesh is.
