The HD one-way also takes a special carrier bearing size. I've had a couple of these now where the folks I'd bought 'em from squeezed (pressed...musta used a vise 'cause they SURE don't come back off now) the bearings from the "normal" one-way or diff and it causes the one-way bearings to fail over time by compressing the housing.

The correct bearing has an almost brushed looking surface on the outer race as opposed to the highly polished/chrome look of the slightly smaller bearings. If you are having to force the bearings on, they're the wrong ones. They are a close fit, but they slip together by hand.

For me the car was faster with the one way by a tenth or two. As for easier to drive they actually felt the same except I can't use my brakes. I will know alot more this weekend. I will have new tires and a some other car changes. I will try both this weekend just to see the differance.

i have a few questions. first is the ft tc4 worth the xtra money over the tc4? 2 would the ft be just as durable or more durable than my tc3? 3 what seems to break on the ft tc4 that i would need to keep in stock? thanks for the help.

Factory Team car is a totally different car than the tub car. It is the car Associated should have released to begin with.

I think someone made a hybrid tc4 with a factory team top deck and he said it as stiff or stiffer than the Ft....

yeah that was Dave Williams. You will find him on here. I do NOT suggest trying that. Dave is an experienced chassis tuner and was looking for something specific. Running the top deck on the tub was only part of what he did. I'm sure he could fill you in

I think the BMI setup will be more consistant and with the batteries moved forward and close to the driveshaft it should make the car more agressive for you on the carpet.

I posted on this thread a few times before about the steering being sloppy. Well I have rebuilt the steering with axle shims, as so many of you have posted and replaced the ball cups. Surprise, not sloppy anymore. I can go down the straight away...straight. What a difference that makes. I like my car again. Now if we could just get Associated to step up their parts quality a little bit. I did notice that the AE ballcups had less play than the RPM ones when first put on the car. I put RPM on the left and AE on the right just to see what held up better. After a few bumps on the boards and the RPM cups seem to have stayed tighter.
