What spur/pinion brand would you guys suggest for stock on my FTTC4? The 48p make way too much noise for me.

BTW, I just ran my FT TC4 at a club race ( first time driving the car) and lucked into third in the A. Up until last week I was a first in the B guy. I practiced some today with the car and it feels and looks so much faster than my XXXS. It got a few people to question if the motor was stock, which it very much is.

Bob is that a 64 or 48 pin to run the 100 spur, I have a 108 spur which I think would use the 64 pin.and that will give me more speed.also shock how should I use them, harder the spring the better the tracion. Thanks

If you are worried about noise, you picked the wrong car. Shaft drives are always going to be loud and gears will only help that to a certain extent. I use 64 pitch in all my cars and the difference in noise is barely noticable...if at all.

I like the new PRS gears or the white KW gears for spurs. I use the Titanium Racing pinion gears.

100 tooth would be a 64 pitch.

If I understand your shock question right, a harder spring will yeild less traction so you only use a hard spring on tracks that have high traction to begin with. Bottom line is if you need more traction, use a lighter spring. If you have too much traction, use a heavier spring.

Keep in mind you should try to balance spring and oil. You don't want a shock with a 10 pound spring and 100 weight oil.

it is 64 pitch...not sure if a 108 fits never tried anything that big.

shocks...everyone has a theory. Basically you need to insure your car has balance. This is done with angles, spring rate, oil and pistons. If you are running on a track that is very tight you will want to have your car react quickly. this can be done by going to a lighter oil or stiffening up the spring one step OR standing the shock up. If your car is going into a turn and the rear inside tire lifts, then stiffen up the front. remember small changes. Big sweeping tracks require stability. That means slower reacting suspension, thicker oil for more dampening. I know theres a few sites you can go to that will give better explanations.

Default need a little help

Need a little help.

I noticed that the front right cvd on my FT is very close to the coming out of the outdrive cup.

Do I need to shim the diff to get this to move more into the outdrive cup.

Thanks,
E

There ya go you might be able to hook up with Dawgmeat and work on setups. Thats the best thing to do. each of you try something a little different and then compare.

The directions for the Steel Diff is wrong. Note the directions for the plastic diff....I do believe that the Diff spring goes in first then the thrust baering set-up I might be wrong though
