Just wondering.....for those that have the new car, is slop still an issue with the suspension parts?

Default converting to FT

I stopped by Ultimate and they had a good portion of the parts needed to convert to a FT.
Chasiss,78.00, top deck, 35.00 motor mount, 25.00. etc. The one that was kind of shocking was the little aluminum pieces to moun t the top deck, 12.00 a piece!Getting close to 200.00 already without the towers and spline. Dont know if i can justify that and i am definately not in need of another car.
I know i shouldnt be suprised but i was still hopefull it would be closer to 150.00. From what i hear there wont be a conversion kit either. Oh well.

Hmmm.....FT TC4 or Yok BD for only 50 bucks more

Seriously, I'd love to give Associated my business, but for over $300 this car shouldn't have way more slop than my old TC3, like my graphite TC4 does. Now even with shoddy parts quality, the car's fast and handles decently but come on....

Mr. Phalen or anybody representing Associated....please tell me these problems have been fixed!

It's was on AE tech talk, fairly close to the top. Here's the link.

so you don't have to search:

"We will soon be offering a chassis conversion so you can put the FT carbon fiber chassis on the existing line of TC4s. This will reduce some weight and offer a greater range of tuning options."

Default Question on ceramic' bearings

How much better are the Ceramic Nitride Bearings compared to the PTFE-sealed ball bearings that come stock in the FT kit.

1.Has anybody out there tried ceramic bearing in there TC4?

2. Which brand (ACER OR BOCA ect..)

3. Did you notice any improvements and was it worth?

Thanks,
E

REDLINEM03: I have purchased ceramics from Acer in the past. They seem to have tighter tolerances than the standard PTFE bearing from AE, and take a little longer to break in to be free and smooth. When they do, they spin for days! They do however seem to be a little on the brittle side, and its not as easy replacing the ceramics, as it is going to your LHS to buy replacement PTFE bearings. The PTFE bearings when polished and lubed are just as good IMO, and a tad bit cheaper and easier to get.
