Other way around dude...Plaid is the dual compound (front)

Either Plaid (Pruple/Orange Dual Compound) F & Purple R or Cyan (DBL Pink/Orange Dual Compound) F & DBL Pink R (Plaid/Purple only for super high grip)

Talking XXXKat

I know all about "radio issues", I bought an M-8 off e-bay with no book. Some guys at the track tryed to explane it to me, I just don't understand geek, (heck, my 1982 model vcr still flashes12:00) I just can't get it right.
I'm glad you and your TC4 are having a reconciliation, it's not a bad car, you two weren't comunicating your needs.
Now race and have fun.

Chassis is a little unbalanced, need weights on electronics side, more later.

My TC4 and I have been buddies ever since I freed up his drivetrain and replaced the cracked rear upright he came with. I named him Champion

I too have been "fighting" my TC4 for a while, but not because it's not a good competitive car, but because I want to make it an even better one.

Son Josh already laps regularly below the lap record. While he has been away on holiday I have concentrated on the TC4 and tried different things each day. Some were lousy and the lap times immediately showed it, but with yesterday's set up I seem to have finally hit it right. Betweem Saturday and yesterday evening I have found over half a second consistantly, using the same tyres, motor and cells. It is now so responsive and easy to drive. I can't wait to see the sort of lap times he is going to do with it.

JohnBull- What surface are you racing on? Could you post it if it's asphalt?

Looking for parts

Is there a company that makes derilen(sp) out drives for the TC4? Also, is there a CF upper deck that I could add to the chassis to stiffen it for carpet? I just can't keep from messing with this thing .

GPM used to sell delrin diff halves for the TC3, which would also fit a TC4. And BMI makes a graphite upper deck to stiffen the TC4.

We race on asphalt. I presently have 2 TC4s both with BMI chassis. Last week I decided to get a bit imaginative and lowered the diff cases (and everything else of course) by 2.5mm. Basically I machined 2.5mm from the bottom of the diff cases and the motor mount so that everything has now sunk further down onto the chassis. Yesterday we tried the car and it is brilliant. Same springs, same shocks, same settings yet absolutely no body roll and so much less pitch from weight transfer. Son Josh did times with it with a tired motor and knackered tyres that he does with the normal BMI TC4 at it's best, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he's going to do with this one with a good motor and good tyres.

I'll keep you posted.

Default Lumberjak...

get in line for the delrin outdrives. As far as I know no one makes a good set with collars. Square makes them, but I have not read anything good about them. Something about the screw and t-nut problem. I got a set of reg. steel ones with Acer ceramic balls. They should be smooth. Until BMI makes a set of delrin ones I'll go with the steel for strength and smoothness. Don't you have some IRS ones? They are too much for me. There are just no good alternatives. I would pay $25 a set for some good ones that use the stock bolt, t-nut and aluminum collars.

I don't think BMI makes the upper deck anymore. It took away steering. You can contact them if you want, but I thought it was discontinued. I hope to have my BMI chassis some time this week, cough....cough....cough. Hang on buddy, I think you will like it and the new motor mount. Besides there are alot of other things you can get for it. Aluminum toe blocks are nice and a Team Bomber cf shaft, ceramic bearings.
