scales are the most accurate but the most difficult.i wound up just going back to the tweak station.i usually check it after every heat and with the tweak station,it only takes a minute to reset.the scales have you working a little harder but will get it more exact.i have never really needed scales for this but they will work if you have the patience.

Anyone here have a nice setup for the TC4 with the BMI chassis? I'm running on Med. Grip Ozite. I have my own setup, but was wondering what anyone else ran.

Thanks!

I never realy have been caring so much about this tweak thing, caus i dont understood it i think...

In what way will a "un" tweaked car act? What will I improve by ceaping the car tweaked? (thinking about handeling)

thanks

a car that is tweaked will be an ill handleing car.what you use a tweak station for is to adjust your shock collars on your springs to preload them enough to keep the weight over your wheels balanced due to uneven wheel load.being that you have alot of variances in electronics weight, motor weight, hardware ect.,it is hard to really make a car that is perfectly balanced in all conditions.luckily you have adjustable independant suspension.you can preload your springs so that your car will sit level with its given weight placement.making sure this is set will assure that your car will have even wheel load.a twisted chassis will make this a very difficult adjustment to achieve.a tweaked car will pull to one side under acceleration and braking.it will also give your car a loose feeling turning into a corner in one direction and too much traction in the other direction.this is in no way saying that this is the way to measure front to rear or left to right weight bias, this is the way to compensate.hope this helps.

I am sure this has been asked before, but can TC4 chassis braces and towers be used on the TC3? and mostly, would it be worth it to do so?

@smojoe-I am fairly sure you could do it, but if it were me I wouldn't. Right now there are like a bazillion setup sheets and tons of information about the TC3 for every type of condition. Now, I'm somewhat of a newbie, so I try to stick with the basics. Not many places I'd expect to find solid and proven information on how to set the TC3 up with the new equipment. I have found that my TC3 and TC4 are set up completely different so youd be breaking some new ground, out on the frontier plains all alone with a TC3.25.

Andrew: Thanx for the welcome.
Smo: Yes they can be used. I have been running a "mixed" TC3 for some time now. It actually has TC4 front arms, front and rear,TC4 inner hinge pins with modified TC3 suspension/hingepin mounts, Losi XXX-S steering knuckles and caster blocks, and XXX-S rear 0 degree hubs modified to fit in the front arm for the rear of the car. The TC4 chassis braces and shock towers finish off the car, all mounted to a graphite TC3 chassis. It handles really well, with the car being more balanced, so i can run similar shock setups front and rear, sometimes even running less spring in the front than in the rear. On carpet the car turns/in really well, even with my transmitter dual rate in the high 80%. The car really works in the corner, you can see and feel the suspension work similar to an X-Ray '05 on the track. It is a little tight feeling when compared to the new Losi car on the same track, but it IS still being worked on.

I just got back online recently, where are some GOOD pix of the up and coming FT TC4? A shout out to all those i havent talked too in forever... Ed H, Justin R, Arun M, ETC... i hope you boys are holdin it down.

Default Want to get a TC4 AGAIN...

Anyone looking to get rid of their TC4? I want to get one with TF parts and extras so that I can get it ready for carpet racing (plan on getting a BMI chassis upgrade for it). Any help would be appreciated. Please PM me.

I dont mean to be telling stories out of school (quote from "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"). . . But I just finished building my first yokomo cap equipped associated shock, and I gotta say. MAN!!! This is the one and only way to get these shock built. This was THE BEST $26.00 (product plus tax plus shipping) I have spent in a long time. I just had to share my joy. If you've got the $$ and want some suh-weet pushers, this is the only way to go on the TC4.
