Hard one to answer because you are talking about two different cars. The TC3 and the TC4 are very different cars even though to the layman they look the same. This was proved when the TC4 first came out and everybody found they had to change their setup completely between the TC3 and TC4.

How about buying the TC4 BMI kit and the few other bits you need to convert totally to TC4. You will end up with a much better car.

I am presently converting a couple of TC3s to TC4 and you don't need many bits, and all are cheap. Now if you are going BMI then that's a step better again. It may be worth considering.

Parts that spring to mind are wisbones, hingepins and holders, steering parts, centre bearing holder and motor mount, and front bumper. The most expensive single part is the motor mount.

I had a BMI TC3 and I will be putting the BMI setup on my TC4 in a week or so. I always thought the TC4 was like the TC3 until 3 weeks ago I puled the trigger and bought a TC4. These two cars look similiar but thats about it. The new TC4 is so adjustable compared to the TC3. I couldn't beleave how different the cars where until I built my TC4. So far performance has been excellent on my TC4 with no complaints. The better gears cases also made my trans. smooth right from the beginning with no extra Dremeling to make it free. If I put ceramic bearings in it would spin even longer. Some minor shimming needed after a few runs but nothing I don't do on other brand cars.

what are the benefits of running TC3 castor blocks? I bought my car used and I broke a 4 deg block, when I put on a new one I noticed that one side was flat along the bottom and the other side had a spot sticking out for a set screw. Is that the only difference? Im assuming that one was a tc3 block.

The Caster Blocks will work for both cars. The only difference is that the TC3 blocks are not symmetrical on both sides of the block. You will notice a small 'hump' on one side of each block...this was used as a sort of 'stop' when steering in one direction. The new TC4 blocks are symmetrical on both sided of the block, allowing the same amount of throw to both sides.

Am I correct in saying that the ones with the set screw on the bottom are for the TC3?
