very nice there. 3Racing towers? Did those TRF Shocks fit right on, or was there some extras needed?

hi
yes your right those are 3 racing shock towers.there quite nice
the trf ms shoocks fitted straight on i just used 3 racing ti shock bushings at the top and tc4 ball cups at the bottom
they were much easier to build than the tc4 ones.
cheers gaz

Hey Tony. Looking at the pic, I see you're no spring chicken.

No offence meant of course, but join the gang.

Hi Guys,

I m really having a hard Time with my TC4 at the moment the ESC\Motor are overheating and cant find whats causing this...

My drivetrain is perfectly free, it spins for over 10 secs and I even changed 12 bearings that didnt even really needed to be changed, just to be sure...

If at least it was only the motor I could probably bear it but the ESC (GTX) overheats meaning something is puting stress on it I guess...

Could it be the diffs being to tight? or overtightened wheel nut? (I know its stupid)

How long can you touch the motor after a 5 min run? BTW, my gearing is fine and I tried loads of motors and gearing combo...with no result...

Some help would be greatly apreciated!!

Thanks Guys!!!

Gear Mesh, If it is too tight you will smoke motors, speedos, you name it. It happens. gotta have a little wiggle

Tight diffs won't cause drive train drag. If you still spin after the wheels are on, it is probably not an overtightened wheel nut.

What motor and gear? Track size? Do you run a fan? Have you tried the motor in another car to see if it overheats?

Will the TC4 hold 3700's? 3800's?

Thanks guys,

My gear mesh if fine, I always leave a little woble

I run 12T 9T 8T, the last run I used a 9T geared at 8,4 FDR 8 degree timing, I have the AE duct\fan kit installed

Honestly, I tried loads of different motors and gearing and checked with other drivers, they cant find whats causing it...

I run on a high traction medium size track

Ask them to run your motor/gear for a test. Are you geared close to them for the same wind motor? Have you checked the bearings in the motor?

What are you using for hexes on the axles? If you are using the plastic for example and overtighten the wheelnut this could possibly cause binding.

Have you tried a different ESC?

I was runnin a 10T double at 8.9 fdr on a high bite medium sized track (different car) and it gets pretty warm but not hot.

If I run a 19T QM at 6.5 fdr you can hold your finger on the can for maybe 2 seconds....
