Thumbs up TC4 spares

I would say an extra set of arms, preferably the updated ones, hinge pins didn't seem to be a problem with me, but it's always nice to be prepared. Maybe a set of nuckles, you know, the usual spares.

Default bhambrent...

which hubs are you talking about? Wheel hubs? First, buy a Losi shim kit, because there are several locations you need to shim the car. The wheel axles, inter hinge pins on the arms, and the steering rack bushings all need to be shimmed up. Also the hinge pins in the arms can't be shimmed, along with the plastic pivot balls in the toe blocks. Some have used plastic cellophane around the pivot balls and good luck locating the revised arms. They are not marked. Hope this helps.

Has anyone had problems running with 28mm front foams? Mine are binding on the steering knuckle. I've had to cut the tires down to 27mm so they clear. When comparing the TC3 knucles with the TC4's, it appears that the TC3's knuckles place the wheel a little farther out from the pivot point, and the angle is a little more acute. Does anyone know if AE is going to issue a revised part or should I switch to my TC3 knuckles?

i think they are slightly stronger and have less slop.

but its hit and miss when trying to get them because they are bagged up the same as the originals and very hard to tell the difference by eye.

Default Bob Barry...

according to AE they changed the arm tolerances on the outer hinge pins and used more material around the shock hole. It's difficult to tell just buy looking at them.

Is it a different car or does it just have more hop-ups?

RandomFellow - yeah i had the same trouble with 28's on the front of my TC4. I turned my steering down to 60% on my transmitter so they wouldn't hit. Course I'm new and still haven't got the hang of it.

Dave,

Please give up a head's up if you notice anything different with the FT TC4 at the Reedy Race.

Thanks!
