Hey guys,

i'm going to race at theReedy Race in 3weeks and am looking for some setups with use of a spool in the front. Honestly never ran one. I wanna compare some of the testing I've done with it so far.

Any info would help. Thanks

Jess

Hi Jess.. I`ll be there too.
what class..?? 19T or Mod.?
if it`s 19T.. I have been working on a set up with a spool that is working pretty well..... Here`s what I have so far...give it a try out and give feed back after you have tried it out...maybe we can both try to get a dialed set up by then
-Dave
Front
Blue spring
40W oil
#2 piston
outer hole on sus arm
one hole in from outside on shock tower
4 deg hub
#2 shim under front triangle & circle block
black swaybar
IRS spool
1 deg camber
1 deg toe out
6 for droop on AE gauge
upper camber link rod on inner hole with 1 silver washer
outer hole on steering knuckle with 1 silver shim under ballstud

Rear
Silver spring
35W oil
#2 piston
outer hole on sus arm
one hole in fron outside on shock tower
innner hole on rear hub
2.5 deg toe in
#3 shim under square & X block
1 deg camber
4 for droop on AE gauge
upper camber link rod on inner hole with no shims and black ballstud
black swaybar

Tires RP30
Body Rayspeed Accord or Yokomo type E

this set up has very good turn in and is fairly easy to drive
try it out and tell me what you think... or if there is anthing that you think would make it better

Sure does... the new Yokomo one is a slight bet lighter.. but a gram or 2 but the Bomber is much stronger... it`s a much better choice for mod where the Yokomo shaft would be better suited for 19T and up

Never hit walls..??? what about 2x4`s and most of the tracks that I`m at are med in size and are quite technical ... the Only super huge tracks that I know of are Yatabe Arena.... & Kawaba R/C Plaza..

but this is the local track for me

Hi Dave

Any reason for the front input cup to be alloy and the rear one to be stock?

The front alloy cup is a one piece alloy shaft + drive cup..so it spins very true and saves weight at the same time...the rear one I kept stock because.. in a crash the rear one tends to take a beating.. and when you use the rear alloy cup it bends the rear alloy input cup...so the stock one works just fine
