I really didn't crack mine but it just broke right off .Trust me, get the aluminum one. It'll last.

Lets see TC4...

CDN Dollars....

Kit 330$
Carbon chassis 95$
alu blocks for rear only $45
Alu hex adapters $30
Polished hing pins 9$
RPM bumper 10$
HD one-way $83
2 sway bar kits $40
total = $642 (inc taxes)

I also had the blue motor mounts but they are more bling than a hop-up

Now... Xray FK05...

Kit $580
Spring steel axle-hubs front only $52
total $632

Yes if I added sway bars the fk would be more $$, but if I added all the replacement arms, hubs, and bearings I replaced in the TC4 it would be close once more. I hated taping batteries the first few runs.. but I am used to it now.

I did like driving the TC4, and the fact that just putting together a TC4 leads to a car that is unique to any other TC4, there are so many choices for option parts, I just didn't like the slop, and the constant repairs. Sure I am new, so I do tend to hit things, but so far based on $$/lap the XRay is a cheaper car. Plus i spend more time driving than fixing +) and ready to run... the FK is almost 200g lighter than my TC4, which comes in handy for no minimum weight limit club racing +Q

Heh most of those prices were even cash prices no tax. I have several local stores and tracks to shop at, and that's where I shop. I support the local guys as they are the ones keeping the hobby alive here. I have bought from the US and found by the time shipping, exchange and duties are applied I may as well have bought it local.

Internet shopping is all well and good, but it does nothing to support your hobby locally. If everyone here shopped on the net for their stuff we wouldn't have any tracks. I live near the largest population center in Canada, and up until a few weeks ago, we had one indoor track....

If I had to buy my TC locally it would have cost me $500 minimum.

I dont mind someone wanting to make a profit and help the hobby but If I can buy from another store in the US who is already making money and it costs me less than half the local price then someone is being ripped off!!!

Some shops are maybe 40% more expensive than what it would cost for me to bring things in and I dont mind buying from them, 40% is fair compared to 120%

just my 2cents

Default TC4 Bashing?

Why is it that people thet once owned TC4's have to come back to this forum, and bash it, or maybe they regret selling it, and can't help feeling how much they miss it! It's not a bad car! In 2 days of racing I broke one rear hub carrier. I was T-boned by another car so it was expected( I think most car's would have broke)

Remember when the TC3 first came out? Everybody got one, then sold it because it broke too easy (compared to an HPI), then brought another one because it really was a better car.

I ran my TC4 for the first time Friday night. I haven't been carpet racing in 2 months, and I hadn't been to this track in 5 months. I was able to qualify second and finish third in the A. In practice I broke 1 hub carrier.

The TC4 is a great car, but as usual Associated didn't put a big enough bumper on the front. Just like the TC3, it needs a bumper that covers the front wheels as well.
