Default front right shock preload question

hi guys, i hve tried it and it really works, but i would like to knw how much is too much? will too much preload make the car feel funky when it makes right hand turns? the car is great on stock and 19 but i run mod, and that's where i encounter slight problems. thanks

I think he is referring to a team driver's suggestion to slightly tweak the car to help resist the effects of Torque-steer

Yes, correct. I was pertaining to that tip by an AE Team Driver. Works well but you don;t usually set up your car that way.....

This is what I was told. You can do it two ways. 1rst way is on a tweak station. On the MIP style set your car so there is NO tweak at all. Then crank on the front right shock until the bubble barely touches the line on the level and you’re done. On the laser tweak board you adjust the shock until there is 1 degree of difference.

The second way is to measure your front shocks with a set of calipers and then crank on your front right shock a couple of turns and re measure. I forgot the exact measurement off the top of my head. I can measure my shocks when I get home and let you guys know.

From what the factory driver told me is the car is well balanced now so your really don't have the torque steer when you gun it but the rotation of the shaft will make the car want to dive too hard on the right shock. So you preload it to compensate for that problem.

Once you keep the rear wheels on the ground the car is REALLY HOOKED UP!!!!

the front shocks on my car are weird...to set ride height 5mm either side on the front my front right shock automatically needs preloading a bit more than the left...weird....saying that i dont actually get any torque steer whats so ever, or not any that i can see/feel.

The front shocks will not always be the same length to get your ride height the right. That is why I always set me teak before preloading the front right shock. So, you would set the ride height, set the tweak perfect, and then preload the shock. Either by the way with the tweak board or measure your shocks. I can post the measurements to preload the shock after I get home from work. I can't remember exactly how much off the top of my head.

Cliff Lett has said that the TC4 project is still only in it's beginning phase. Release of the "standard" kit was only the first round so to speak.

FTTC4 release date...Prolly Fall '05.

Expect the FTTC4 to be quite a bit different.

What do you mean the FT TC4 will probably be a lot different? Like what do you think they will change?

Hey guys,

I'm taking into consideration for doing the battery mod where you use tape instead of the battery brace. What would be the "best" Dremel tools for this? (Cutoff Wheel, etc).

Also, does anyone know what page(s) I could find a picture of this done ?

Thanks.
