My car is dialed! I had it out last thursday at SoCal and had a funky push... i talked to one of the AE factory guys (sorry i forgot his name but i will find out next time i see him ) and he pre-loaded my front right shock and then i dropped the left rear droop 1/2 a setting. that cured it! the car was on rails!

He explaind to me that it was the torqe of the shaft so if you preload that shock a bit and it keeps the car from diving as hard in high speed corners and keeps the rear end on the ground.

All I know my car went from felling like it was delayed on diving in on a hard corner and haveing a funky push to on RAILS!!!!

I have allways liked the car but now i am IN TO IT!!!

Thumbs up Speedway PAL TC4 Prototype diff pic's

Here are some of the latest shots of the diff.. this diff also 2grams lighter than the IRS diff and it also allows you to shim the diff more for better gear mesh and on the price it should be about the same as the IRS diff.

Sure will as of now there is only 2 made they are trying to deside if they want to go with a T-Nut like the IRS diff of use a small nut like the stock diff..... it's all coming down to the price... but testing should be done in about 2-3 weeks so maybe around the begining of March... or so.

So has anyone come up with a convential way of lightening up their cars yet? I noticed that BMI makes shock towers for the X-ray cars I believe. Im not sure if it would be possible for the TC4 but I think it would be awsome, stiffness and weight reduction.

Milling the Battery slots,Chassis center brace down a few mm's and opening up the battery hole a bit.. was able to lose 13+ grams on the carbon chassis... and abour 17grams on the plastic chassis

Why the concern with lightening the car? The car is extremely capable of winning. Look at the Champs, Novak and now the Snowbirds. They are learning about the car and it keeps getting faster.

My car is a tank but it is extremely quick. No problem keeping up with the lighter Xrays and PRO4s. Just a matter of getting away from the TC3 setup mentality and find a setup for the TC4 that works the best for you.

The car seems to work better the softer you go. I am running a setup that would and never did work with my TC3. Can't wait to get some more testing in.

Later,

Ok guys, I need a little help. I am usually good at getting corner speed out of my setup but right now the xrays are killing me. So let's hear some ideas.

Carpet Setup

Front:
60wt #3 piston
Silver Sway bar
Copper spring
Shock mounted inside hole on arm, 2nd from out on tower
4 deg caster blocks
camber link middle hole 3 spacers
outside hole on steering block
1 bump steer spacer
1 .025 arm mount shim on circle mount
no arm mount spacer on triangle
1 thick (offorad shock seal spacer) on rack
1 shim in fornt of arm, 2 behind
0 deg toe
5mm ride height
Droop 1 mm above ride height

Rear:
40wt #3 piston
Red Spring
Outside hole arm, 2nd from out on tower
camber link inner hole, no spacers, inside hole on hub
no arm mount spacers
3 shim in front of arm, 0 behind
2.0 deg x block
5mm ride height
Droop 2mm above ride height

Diffs set per instruction

Parma cyan and magentas 58.5 - 59mm
Parma Alpha

Ti based 10dbl
everyone is about the same speed out of the corner and down the straight.

Car feels very balanced and feels fast. The other cars are just cornering faster. I am losing .2 to .3 tenths a lap and not sure what to change. I tried running some pro-squat but made the car just a little wierd transitioning to on power and didn't really help the rotation like I wanted. No real tight corners on this layout, mostly a series of 90s and some fast switchbacks.

Default tc4 setup

definately not a one way for carpet foams.

similar setup to what i have been runnning, but i feel i get a lil more corner speed with the purple fronts and copper rears. the car is a more loose that way. or what about trying to lean the front shocks in one hole on the tower..

up until last weekend, my xray was .3-.5 sec faster and now the tc4 is juust as fast as my xray and keeping up with the rest of the crowd..
