Default MartynD & DOTMAN THANKS GUYS!!!

I enjoyed reading both of your posts, thank you for taking the time to answer me...
Actually, I thought the PRO4 had a much more quiet and free drivetrain...

I think I made my decision, I'm getting the TC4, it's true it doesn't look as nice as the PRo4 but Carbon fiber doesn't win races...and it looks almost the same design as my evo3 surikarn, don't want two cars who look almost like twins...

As for the parts, I'll order them on the net so its not a real issue...

I just HOPE my TC4 kit will be easy to build, I mean with no fittings problems with parts
I'll try first with all the stock parts, simply out of the box and see how it goes then maybe I'll buy some hop ups parts after if I need to

What pinions do you think I should buy for runnig 12t mod, big track with stock spur...72 teeth? I think

Again, Thanks!

Ya know...I built my suspension last night and I really have to honestly say this...

WHY ON EARTH ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT "SLOP" in the suspension????

After I assembled it, it had only the very SLIGHTEST of wiggle. I mean .5mm or less worth.

People need to start looking at this from an engineering standpoint. The component fit is just fine. A small and I mean TINY amount of wiggle will not hurt an RC Car. It will drive just fine.

People are getting WAY too anal about some of their TC4 bashing...Talk about picking nits.

Bob - also check to make sure that your droop settings are equal from side to side. This can play havok with your car if it is not. I only use the included guage to get my droop close if I am reproducing someones setup. Then I place the car on the setup blocks from my Dynamite droop setup guage and get it even from there.

A droop setup guage that uses machined blocks and a guage will allow you to set equal droop even if the chassis has a slight twist to it.

Considering I'm just now building a TC4 that my Girlfriend bought me for Christmas, I think I may have an "old" kit.

However if it's a "revised" one I'm happy. The diffs are perfectly ok as well.

She bought it for me on Dec 5th.

It moves the motor out towards the edge of the car a bit more, helping the left/right balance of the car a bit.

(p.s. thanks guys for the tweak help, I'll try it all out tonight

Is it crying and moaning to say that the kit is not perfect????

That's what my original poitn was...the RCCA review that gave it a perfect 10 for parts fit and finish...

Associated customer service is great and they are fixing the problems....but to say that there were no issues would mean that Associated is spending large sums of money for no reason...

My apologies if you've found the comments sacriligeous, but that's how I feel.

It's a great kit, with great handling and tuneability and merely average fit and finish

Windsorguy,

No doubt that the f & f are a long way from a 10, but everything tht you read in a magazine needs to be read with a giant grain of salt. It's unfortunate that it has to be that way. I guess that I forget that there are teenagers and younger that read the mag's and don't know that these guys are not always right.

I guess that in all of the years that I've been doing this, I've come to expect flaws in the production process of these cars.

I've left my teen years far behind me..but the poitn you bring up is a large part of my outrage...

Some people will read the magazine expecting perfect and flawless...

Even negative comments will quite often be written in such a manner as to minimize them in an effor to accentuate the positive...

Exactly my point as well.

The car is great - I LIKE the car.

but F&F was nowhere near a 10 - and neither was the F&F on the TC3.

and not to lump all mags together - but one primary source of revenue is advertisers and when you're reviewing their product. . .well. . .that big grain of salt comes into play.

It will take 64, look for something around 100 teeth. I think 84 would be too large.
