They are from IRS. They are a small pin with a rubber cushion on the outside that goes into the diffs. They are easier on the diffs and will not cause the diffs to wear out. They will slower wear away but only cose like $4, alot cheaper than the diffs.

These are pin cushions....

You can find them in the TC3 section of the IRS Racing website

I'll try to snap some pics tonight. Here's what you have to do though.

1. Get the composite bones.
2. Get pin cushions
3. Get the Schumacher blades (http://www.kthobbies.com/~kthobbie/c...cgi/U1918.html)
4. Remove the pins from the composite bones.
5. Cut plastic part of the pin cushion in half.
6. Install the pin cushion with the half plastic piece (the pin part should be hanging out on either side of the bone)
7. Fit the Schumacher blade on the pin.
8. You will have to trim the transmission housing and chassis braces to allow clearance for the blades.

These work best with the composite bones and the plastic outdrives. The aluminum bones allowed the pins to fall out and bind up on the chassis braces.

JBrake started with Barry Baker's Novak setup and went from there. You can find my setup in the downloads section at www.rcohio.com

What is the durability like on the composite bones?

I hope it's better than the Associated composite outdrives...

speaking of outdrives and diffs...

Did anyone else read the RCCA reviewof the TC4????

Can someone...ANYONE please explain to me how it rates a perfect 10 in parts fit and finish??????

The other question is that Cliff Lett made the recommendation that people who got early kits get the new parts.....is Associated supplying the parts? or should we all rush to our stores and randomly buy parts hoping that they are updated pieces and not the TC4 originals?

Don't get me wrong..I like my TC4 and it's workign well for me....but a 10 for parts fit and finish is a HUGE stretch...to me 10 says no hand-fitting or extra shimming required and the only flashing needing to be removed is at the injection sprue from the mold...NO flashing around or in any holes....I'd probably rate it a 7

I've run them in both 19t and stock for weeks now with no problems what-so-ever.

I bought my TC4 just after christmas, no diff gear problems at all.

Only fit issues I had was when I tried to mount 4 deg caster blocks.

OOPS and countersinks weren't deep enough on the chassis.

Still no updated arms in the GTA...

I agree - it's a typical magazine review.

I've noticed that NO magazine rates ANYTHING less than a 5 out of 10, meaning that nothing actually sucks. . .

Many magazines are actually afraid of offending their advertisers so they will review accordingly.

In addition, I've actually seen several reviewers say that they have NOT raced on-road or off-road for quite a while UNTIL they reviewed X car. . .this raises a HUGE red flag for me. I want RACERS to review the car. I want to see A-Main or even B-Main regulars, Sportsman class drivers to review this car, not an off-road guy who hasn't had a car on asphalt/carpet for 8 months. . .

It's why I like X-Play on G4TechTV. . .they're gamers reviewing games and they LOVE to give 1 out of 5 scores (when appropriate) and have actually bemoaned the fact that they can't give 0's since there are games that deserve it (but in a 1-5 scale, there are no 0's. . .)

Yes, AE will replace the original 'bad' fitting parts for free.

I understand that the magazines don't typically rate below 5 out of 10..as a courtesy to their advertisers they follow the old "if you can't say anything nice rule...."....

although some seem to have a different ending..instead of not saying anything at all...they make up things to say....

Like I said..I like my TC4s ( I have 2 of them)....but parts fit and finish is certainly no 10....and if you think it is....build an Xray...I guess thier fit and finish would be about a 14 then ...

What is the procedure to be followed to get the updated parts?
