Default GRAPHITE

I ran the car for the first time with the whole graphite on. I broke one arm but I was hit by another car and flipped into the wall. But besides taht the car was a lot better. I doesnt scrub nearly as much speed through the corner as it did. It it still losing some corner speed though. I want to try BMI's top deck to see if that helps it some more. Im going to try one of the more popular "soft" setups that are being posted and see how I like it. Anyways, it made a good impression if now I could only drive..

The only adv. Im seeing is weight loss. I dont know if it would be required to win. I mean I understand that it contributes to a great car, but in my mind you gotta drive it either way...but up against the other cars on a pro level it may make a differece.

Thumbs up Doing some milling soon...

Hey guys.... have any of you thought of any areas on the TC4 chassis that might stand to loose some weight....
I have a standard chassis that I have started on a standard plastic TC4 chassis by Removing some material from the following areas.
1) Center back bone... milled down 2 mm
2) Opened up the Battery slots in the center of the slot by 2mm on each side..

by doing this I was able to save 8 grams without any flex issues

if any of you guys have any other recomendations for areas that could use a little "weight loss" please post them

Pic's will be soon to follow
-Dave

Dave,

How do you like the TC4 compared to the other chassis you own?
Do you also know when the PAL parts are supposed to be released?
Thanks.

Gilles

Took the TC4 out again on Carpet at the local Carpet series on Sunday. All I can say is wow! The car was nailed, made a few minor changes through the day resulting in a car that felt near on perfect for me.

Also in the 19T class there were 4 TC4's in the top 5.

Default TC4 diff clarification - Gear thickness

I've read all the posts about the early kits having a diff gear a little to thick. Mine was purchased pre-Christmas.

Since we shredded our front outdrives, I decided to put the associated lightened steel oudrives on (we are newbies, and more concerned about reliability than losing a little spool up speed for now!). I used the TC3 rebuild kit to install the steel outdrives.

However, I noticed that the diff gear that came with the kit was white in color, while the replacement diff gear I bought was the traditional black color. Since I was taking it all apart, I figured I'd replace the diff gear just in case I had a bad one initially.

Has anyone determined if the color of the gear helps pinpoint whether or not you have a bad one? I am not that experienced adjusting diffs on on-road cars, and for me its hard to tell by feel if I have a bad one or not.

The diff seems to turn reasonably smoothly, and then its hard to turn one wheel when holding the other wheel and the spur. So I assume if that is the case the diff is correct. At least that is the way we did it on our stadium trucks. Should it be REALLY hard to turn the opposite wheel, or just KINDA hard?

Thanks!

Paul

Paulct- You can run the TC4 diff slightly looser than the offroad stuff and get away with it. The color won't effect how it runs. The white ones are just a running change, the black gear is an older gear. It will still work fine, I think the white ones are just a little stronger plastic, and the pinion gear mold was changed.

i raced my tc4 on foams on saturday (with a stock) and boy was it dialled.

the track was a mixture of techincal parts and flowing parts but the crazy thing was, i could take it all flat out....now and again i had to jump off the throttle to dodgey other peeps but other than that, my setup was dialled....didn't loose much corner speed (im still running plastic chassis etc and i had foams on)

and i dont think my motor was that slow, wiped the deck with some 19ts on the straight

if anyones interested in my setup, PM me and ill send it to you.
